this i made at the same time as the ruffle
kusudama. the light purple
paper has silver flake in it like the
pink paper does. the darker purple is tissue. it was easier to
fold the ruffles tissue than it was to
fold the lace. i was hoping to tissue would be more transparent but the folds made the color darker. i like it non the less. this is a tomoko fuse diagram, btw

kusudama posts and love them all.
How long does it take you to
fold and build one? It usually takes a day or so, cutting down the units, 30 units of each color, folded between clients at work or on my lunch ...

... of like garland so it would get me a big 'ol X on the
quiz show so I was quiet. shhh. But yeah, you know
how a different color scheme seems to be popular each season... add a few of them thar
paper birdies in the same color scheme and you'd have the money making scheme of the century.
How fast can you
fold?

not really hard, i can finish one in a day. once the basic understanding of construction is grasped it is rather easy to complete. there are 30 units of the purple and 30 units of the double sided pink/red paper. i can usually fold most of the units at work between clients and glue it all together at home.

Tomoko Fuse is my origami hero!! this is one of her "Floral Origami Globes" the light pink
paper has
silver leaf in it. the ruffles are tissue
paper. i thought the tissue would look nice but i didnt think about
how hard it would be to
fold. the units are 3"x1.5" i cut them down from 6"x6" sheets
