Quote: Quote by: cfreetenor Yes, it is possible to eat dogs. They are made of meat. People in other cultures eat dogs. This is all irrelevant. It has nothing to do with the objective morality that you seem to think applies to the eating of dogs. No, "morality" is the wrong word here. "Conventionality" is. It is not coventional to eat dog meat in the US today, but it is totally legal as long as you...

Quote: Quote by: cfreetenor No, it is the right word. You claimed that eating dog and eating cow was equal on moral terms. It is your job to prove that. Stop throwing up strawmen. Getting back on track; You're assuming that the fact that we can eat dogs makes it morally equivalent to eating cows. While that may be true for you, someone else may hold different morals. Your response to this, of course, is to claim that morality is...

And just because he can't prove all he says doesn't mean he loses, You'd have to provide counter evidence in order to win. other wise it's looking more like a stail mate. He is making a claim that eating dog and eating cow is morally...

Quote: Quote by: yukonmuffin Speaking of dodging questions... I don't know what you're talking about. Quote: Dogs have a different use then cows, and dogs don't taste good. If those two things where different then yes, we would eat dogs. Appeal to tradition fallacy. Why do insist on being so difficult? Do you HAVE an answer? Quote: Homicide is not primal, in fact it is against our programming. sex is primal not rape. You have...

Quote: Quote by: yourmaster One thing that is abundant in my local market is a string of illegal cigarette salesmen. They come over from France with dirt cheap cigarettes and sell them to kids, this is commonplace as far as I am aware, I know they sell to children to, from personal experience. I can't envisage a world where this does not become true of all drugs even in a world where they are legalised. The black market in cigarettes in...

Quote: Quote by: Tutela de Xaoc You didn't answer my question. I asked for a clear definitive example of what your Forbidden Truth is. Define the Forbidden Truth's best protection from child abuse that is possible. What does THAT mean? It makes no sense. I answered. Your question is unclear. The OP has material aplenty. Ask a properly structured philosophical question, ask for fact, or something.

RIP Capitalism

Quote: Quote by: soothsayer Thank you Barts, for further demonstration that the global Warming crusade is a thinly disguised Global Communist movement. You're implying a false dichotomy. The alternative to capitalism is not communism. Also the global warming issue is one of physics, chemistry, and biology and, as result, on carbon-based economies. Just as capitalism works well in communist countries (China and Vietnam), so too can...

Quote: Quote by: Chinook Polar bears must be the worst offenders with regard to speciesism, then. They act as though they are the kings of the world and more powerful than anyone they meet. Oh wait, that's true, they are. I don't necessarily think speciesism is a bad thing, though. It IS fair to assign a higher value to a human infant over a pig or other animal. We evolved to be able to assign such values, and I think it's fair...

Quote: Quote by: DoctorBarber I agree with the liscense in that if we make having a baby more difficult and more responsibility, women and men will become less promiscuous. Women will stop popping out babies just to collect welfare. Children nowadays are not properly raised because the people having the babies don't really want the baby. There was one proposition ( can't remember where I read it, it 2 years ago ) that you...

Vegetarianism isn't a bad thing. I plan to get partially vegetarian: eat a lots and lots of fruits and vegetable, some fish here and there, plus cereals. Why? First, health. Second, environment.

I've always been curious about drugs so I've tried a lot of the popular ones. The drugs I'm not interested in trying are meth, heroin, or psychedelics.
Personally I think using lots of drugs frequently is a sign of a personality problem. If you're dying to try everything you can smoke, snort, or stick in your arms ( IV drug use is especially stupid), I recommend you find new friends. Hang ...

Reality is people drink and drive because there is NO ALTERNATIVE. Taxi is not an alternative because instead of $3 in fuel it cost you $60+. Public transport for the most part doesn't exist....
