Calculation and statistics?
Published (2009-11-21 21:21:00)
Hi, To be honest, the calculation was the key for me to pass the Naplex and I found the calculation book by Manan H Shroff useful to practice. It has more than 500 questions, kind of repetitive, though. I also used Kaplan review book. It doesn't have enough practice questions but it was to the point. I used the kaplan book for the final review. The kaplan has a chapter for medical statistics and medical literatures which I did not find...

I would definitely go with the Kaplan Qbank - I did both, they are a bit different but if I had to do it again I would not waste my time on Appleton&Lange. I would rather do CPR Practice Exams. Hope it helps! Good luck! Quote: Originally Posted by pharmgirl I would be greatly helped if someone can suggest me what is the best question bank that I can invest in . Has anybody found the preMPJE tests useful for non-Florida MPJE prep? I'm not sure if they are worth it or not so before I pay, I thought I'd ask you guys who have used it. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If any drug contains the banned ingredient, it is considered as: A Misbranded B adulterated C unapproved drug ANSWER: MISBRANDING. IT IS NOT LOWERING OF QUALITY.. BUT IT IS WRONG LABEL OF HAVING BANNED INGREDIENT.. If the drug label has unapproved color additives in the drug product, the drug will be considered as A adulterated drug B unapproved drug C misbranded drug ANSWER: ADULTERATED (REFER BARRY REISS) I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT THAT HOW...

HIV/AIDS info
Published (2009-11-20 11:07:00)
I was able to master HIV drugs information using the Kaplan review material it had concise and easy to understand tables for all disease states. You might want to learn the special characteristics(MOA,side effects and C/I,) for each class first then move on to learn the generic/brand names. All the best Rxsoon

How to get the Naplex score?
Published (2009-11-15 14:23:00)
Depends on the STATE. Mostly it is only available via letter mail to you within 2days to 3weeks. If this is your final exam and you passed it then for some state your Pharmacist status can viewed online before you receive letter. But again it is all depends on your state. I would suggest you ask question for your state and somebody who had experience with that will reply.

Just took MPJE
Published (2009-11-19 01:04:00)
I thought it would be an easier test that naplex, but I found it very difficult and somewhat tricky, ie the answers were so similar that it was hard to choose, rather than cut and dry answers. I also came across questions on subjects or answers that I know I did not read about. Im so frustrated and upset!! I read the hall and reiss book on federal law, and did questions from prempje, and for state, (NH), I read their handbook on acts/rules,...

Hi Topsy-I'm also in GA and have just started to look for an internship in GA. Would you mind sharing your experience on how to look for an intern position? Did you submit your resume online to pharmacy websites or did you call or walk into the pharmacies to see if they had vacancies? I'm also looking for resources for preparing NAPLEX, MPJE and Georgia Practical Exam. I don't know what ...

I didn't like them either but I found " Pharmaceutical calculations" 12th edition the best. the ISBN# 0-7817-6265-0. I got it from amzon.com
here is the link Amazon.com: Pharmaceutical Calculations (9780781762656): Howard C Ansel, Mitchell J Stoklosa: Books
and the best part that it is very inexpensive.
Good luck

It is somewhat of a confusing subject which I am reviewing myself for the law exam but what I could make out is that in order to keep the concepts straight, you should look at "misbranded" when it referst to the labeling of the products, whereas " adulterated" refers to the composition of the product, ie what the product is made up of. Also, remember that a drug can be both, misbranded and ...

No hard or fast limit on the refill
Hi All,
I am confused with this.
What does it mean by no hard or fast limit on the refill?
I think CV does not have hard or fast limit on the refill. How many times are CVs are refilled?
Please help me.
Thank you

I think you should buy the Weissman's book. My friend made a good point. The CPJE is adaptive, which means if you get a law question wrong you will get more law questions. So if you did poorly on law, you will not get many difficult clinical stuffs and end up with a good score on the clinical part but that may due to the fact that you didn't get too many difficult clinical questions. Food ...

Hello everyone,
In studying for MPJE do you just read the topics about pharmacy (mainly)? I don't want to waste...

Are you a Foreign Graduate? If you are then you might think twice before wasting your money on a score transfer to NJ. I just got my score transferred to NJ and it turned out that I need to do an internship anyway before getting my license there. They do not accept transfers of internship hours from other states. I am not sure what my options are now. They basically told me that it doesn't ...
