i dare say that the very problem here is calculation of numbers and wonder how to make it within reasonable period of time a=1/3(b+c) b=2/7(a+c) a=12,4+b 3a=b+c 7b=2a+2c we can get rid off c multiplying the first by 2 and then substraction 9b=8a a=(9/8)*b as a=12,4+b, (9/8)b=12,4+b b=12,4*8=99.2 a=12,4+99,2=111,6 3a=b+c, 3*111,6=99,2+c so c=235,6 99,2+111,6+235,6=446,4 so D dear touche is this gmat problem??? ....i panic

i dare say that the very problem here is calculation of numbers and wonder how to make it within reasonable period of time
a=1/3(b+c)
b=2/7(a+c)
a=12,4+b
3a=b+c
7b=2a+2c we can get rid off c multiplying the first by 2 and then substraction
9b=8a
a=(9/8)*b
as a=12,4+b,
(9/8)b=12,4+b
b=12,4*8=99.2
a=12,4+99,2=111,6
3a=b+c, 3*111,6=99,2+c
so c=235,6
99,2+111,6+235,6=446...

Hi Rohit,
Good Question...
The explanation is below
The eight digit number satisfying the given condition is 99984999 (9998 is twice as large as 4999).
Now, the biggest hint for finding factors of this number is in the question itself.
9998 = 4999 × 2
Multiplying both the sides by 10000, we get,
99980000 = 4999 × 20000
Adding 4999 to both the sides, we get,
99984999 = 4999 × 20000 +...

Squaring both the sides,
17+2( Sqrt 66) = (a+b)+2(sqrt ab)
Therefore, a+b=17 and ab = 66, giving a=11, b=6
Hence, a-b=5

In this case, length of the tangent is nothing but the radius of the circle.
So, Area of the Circle will be PI(14)^2 = 3.142*196.
Please share the answer.

We need to find the length of the radius (r) of the circular floor.
Given: pi*r^2-xy = (pi*r^2)/5
4*pi*r^2 = 5xy
therefore r = root(5xy/4*pi)
Answer is B.

IMO 5m
I would use plugging in here: assume m=60 mins/ 1 hr and c=3
5c=15 in 300 mins/ 5 hrs
plug in the value of m as 60 mins/ 1 hr to check the solution 300 mins/ 5 hrs in the options the answer comes 5m

Q13:
If n is the greatest positive integer for which 2^n is a factor of 10!, then n =
A. 2 B. 4 C. 6 D. 8 E. 10
if we take 10! the numbers divisible by 2 are 10.8.6.4.2 so 2.2^3.2.2^2.2
so 1+2+1+3+1->8
so n=8
