Funny that. The Overheads on Opeth's Deliverance ended up being in mono. I always wondered what Andy had to go through to salvage that record.

Thats a good idea dude. Ok dudes, if you are serious about wanting to do some covers, post here! I know a lot of people have posted, but there are only two or three people who have posted more than once and actually seem to want to do this.

Certainly I agree that , no matter what you use, as long as it sounds good, that's what matters. That being said, bedroom engineers, even the best ones, can argue all they like, but until they have the sort of monitoring the pros use and acoustic conditions they have, they will never get as good a result. And as a crappy amateur bedroom "engineer" (I use the term engineer rather loosely), I can certainly say, aside from...

Jup, nothing but speculation, but you'd suppose a good, busy and succesfull masteringengineer would have no time or need to hang around myspace IM all the time to put himself out there? But you never know Anyhow, Executioner213 wanted some info on the guy and i think he got some good food for thought right?

Depends on what kind a friend he is. I've had the same with a friend who came recording (at no charge at all) but who came constantly late... like 30 minutes or even almost an hour late. He called me most of the times, but it still sucked to just wait. As he's a real good friend I told him this didn't work for both of us, but I didn't make to much of a deal of it. Does he pay you for the ...

Nordstrom always makes such a great interview subject because he's so brutally honest. Interesting to see that he thinks analogue sounds much better. I suppose he succumbed to the convenience of recall and editing at the expense of the quality of the end product. It's a shame because it seemed to be the end of an era. I don't think he did anything as great as Clayman since.

In the first studio report that Nuclear Blast just released on their Youtube page (link also in the blabbermouth article above), you can see an ENGL Savage being used and mr Gary Holt digging it. I'm curious to know if it's gonna make it on the final mix.

Randall indeed. I also used that head and ultra XL module for the new kataklysm mix. I've used it on a few albums now actually, resurrections new one, "mistaken for dead" (as well as 5150) and the upcoming Evince debut record (there is a mix on their myspace that is all recto... the new ones are much better and coming soon) The amp is killer, i actually have the lynch box version, the george ...

Yes it's great news. Agreed that OH is one of the best extreme metal albums ever. Without a doubt if they had kept going they would have revolutionized extreme/tech death IMO. I'm not sure I dig the new singer. I don't like it when new guys try to emulate the old guys, like Blood Red Throne. It ends up just sounding like a cheap imitation. The reason Covan was great was because he added ...

I agree, but I'm also jaded to the whole idea. I suppose if I were 15 again, and really into the band I'd be all about watching a video like this. I'm guessing any video production is meant for the web at this point.

I'll +1 this, though in my case my pitch isn't the problem, but rather my range (or lack thereof, whenever I try to sing along with pretty much any tenor it gets pretty horrid )
