start up empire, then hit task manager go to processes on the panel and find empire total war process, right click it then set priority to high. Basically your problem is theres a programme running in the background that has a higher priority hench the minimising of the game.

try zooming out in IE8. I believe its control+ 0 (zero). On the pop-up issue, you could try downloading google toolbar to stop the pop ups, it seems as though the built in blocker in IE8 isn't working for ya. just a suggestion, I'm not sure what it could be.

This is exactly happening to me. The connection goes out and then goes on again, this happens to me a few times a day. I have also noticed this happens more often when filesharing programs are running.
The problem might be with your modem/router or the cables. Try replacing the cables first, and if it doesnt help then buy a new router. I am getting a new one in a few days.

I don't mean to state the obvious but it's either you floppy drive or floppy disc that's at fault, I suggest you try another floppy disc (any) and see if you get the same error if so then your floppy drive is borked if not then you need a new floppy discs with the correct drivers on it.

This is a bit of a dumb question, but did you try reinstalling the programs you are having trouble with? Otherwise, did you try downloading and installing another browser, like Google Chrome , Opera , or Safari ? While this probably will not solve your problem, at least you'll be able to browse the web better.

I have these Logitech speakers, and I love them. Mine aren't surround sound, but Logitech makes a 5.1 surround sound set in the same line right here .
My room is pretty small and mine can fill the whole room with sound. Sound quality is excellent, I highly recommend them.

Odd one. I suggest running XP in safe mode with networking (press F8 before the you get the XP splash screen on start up) and see if you get the same messages or errors and taking it from there. The alternative is using Windows restore to put you PC back to a point in time when everything was hunkydory.

Getting technical data for the Dell Inspiron 518 is hard work but I think the motherboard in the case is a standard mini-ATX board which is good in your case is it means it can fit inside any standard ATX case (ATX cases are the norm). It's worth checking this out as Dell has used the BTX standard in some of it's lines in the past which is a pain in butt as it means 98% of 3rd party...

You don't need to get a new computer to run WOW. try getting rid of some of your background processes. eg: firefox, sidebar, itunes, msn. Try that and let us know how it went
