[quote=CDonaldson;2100803]You can use a piece of shielded coax from the battery to the radio for power. I used RG-8, that is the heavy coax used for base radio antennas. Use the center lead for the +12 V and the shield for the ground side. Also, put in some additional ground straps from the cab to frame, bed to frame, and cab to bed. (edited for brevity) Thanks for your suggestion. I like the RG-8 idea... I've got some LMR-800 around...

IMO, even with a stock 4 watter, you should have an easy 5 mile range in town and 10-15 on the open road. My amp has a boost for recieve also.

Update: I got tired of the overhead pod falling off on hot days, and didn't want to have to do the major mounting I have read about on here. So a change was in order. I went with a tripple dash pod, ditched the mickey mouse, and put a single pod down by my trailer brake controller. I ended up keeping EGT in the A-Pillar, put boost, fuel pressure, and oil pressure in the tripple dash mount, and put drive pressure down by the trailer brake...

I just installled the replacement pump from Geno's on my 03 and it came with an inline filter that installs with the new pump and fueline. Not sure what micron the filter is but it made since to me to stop the junk from the tank before it gets to the pump.

I'd still get the 2.0 Bilstein setup if you can swing it. It's supposed to be his best riding setup. After getting the system, you might find offroading a lot more fun. There will be added dampening capacity if you decide to throw a cabover on it in the future or tow heavy. I think the Interco Vortrac is the only E rated 35-12.50-17 AT out there. If you don't offroad much, the AT would probably ...

I went from 285-70-17's to 285-75-17 Toyo At's and did feel the increase in diameter. I'm just carrying the 2,000# camper but did feel a slight decrease in power. I'm using the Smarty Sr. on sw#1 and need it. The "75"s fill up the wheel well nicer, but the "70"s might preserve your towing ability better. With my g-56 and 3.73's,I have the equivalent of an auto with 4.11's. Another size compromise...

Lots of them out there on the lot with $50K or even $60K stickers right now. Our local Ford dealer has a half dozen King Ranch F450's that sticker at $64500. I have no Idea what people are actually paying for those units, but it has to still be very high. I wonder how far upside down the original owner of the truck was to warrant a $49,900 selloff?...

Like scootergmc said, I thought the Kore deal was great. But when I compared the price with shipping to buying local (even with sales tax) I think I paid just a few dollars more to get them local from someone I knew.
