Smart move...keeping the name of the engine the same as the legendary 6.0 and 6.4. Great move! At least "Scorpion" would have indicated that is is something totally new (if it really is). I like being able to "see the ground" too. It is much easier to work on an inline engine than a V engine. I still do not know why the Ford folks went with a V8 instead of a inline 6.

The thing I've noticed about all the people behind the wheel in a Prius...is that they LOOK like they belong in a Prius. If you know what I mean. The green flat earth no-growth eco-marxists really do have a certain look to them. They've drank the Gore-Aid to the point that its stunted their looks.

Wish I had bought stock in automotive hose, clamp, and tubing companies. It does remind me of what the plumbing of the 70's Detroit cars were like when emissions kicked in high gear. Maybe down the road they can clean this mess up like they did on the cars. Ford really ought to make these hinge on the front to make them have some access. Of course that won't be needed when you can get 300,000 miles out of them with no repairs, right?

The guys who bad mouth the gov't for saving their company are just a bunch of whiners. Can you imagine the fire and brimstone Obama would have gotten if he just let the company go. And just who would these clowns get to do their warranty work?

I agree UPS is tough on engines. My BIL works for UPS. His truck radiator started leaking and it was running hot. He called his supervisor for a wrecker. His supervisor said " drive it on in to the shop".

We have a couple of the 6.4 powerstrokes in some trucks at work. When ya open the hood it looks downright scary. Not looking forward to the day when I'm gonna have to tear into one. This engine really doesn't look much more user friendly. Guess only time will tell. Mike

I wouldn't buy one,but I hope Ford's new 6.7 works out well for them. Competition amongst manufacturers forces them to improve their product. Ford directly and indirectly employs a lot of folks worldwide. I just don't see how a technician's nightmare and the V-8 configuration's gonna do it for them though. A roomy Ford cab with a Cummins engine would have been the way to go.

Just an idea. When running a demolation derby we ran a plastic fuel tank for gasoline. We filled the gas tank with water. Using a 12 volt pump we supplied cooling water to the block in case the radiator got hit. Could you use something like this to spray water on the I-cooler? No one ever knew how our car kept running. We had an analog temp guage and a switch for the water pump. Good luck.

I think it will drive prices down as more and more emphasis is placed on domestic oil production. Diesel is already almost the exclusive fuel in this country with the exception of personal cars/light trucks and outdoor power equipment. There is no reason it cannot happen in those two areas also!
