Be careful and not touch the block heater to see if its working, even if you don't hear the sizzle, or you just might hear a different kind of.......sizzle. Ask me how I know.

So your thinking is an oil issue over a fuel/injector issue. You say you are a 1/2 quart overfilled . If you didn't over fill it I would think of an injector issue leaking and wash down your cylinder walls.

If you do a search on here there should be some excellent info on this method. It has been a while and I have CRS (can't remember s**t) but I'll try and recall the method. Remove brake rotors etc. Loosen the four bolts that hold the hub assembly to axle tube. Put a socket and extension on one of the bolts and brace it against the axle tube. Start engine, turn steering wheel and the force of the steering should pop the assembly out....

Exhaust smell of raw fuel

it could be the return fuel line on back of head leaking. i had a fuel smell with no visible leaks and found it to be the bolt holding return fuel line on back of head.

Sorry to hear that my 04.5 does even better. The milage on the 03 pulling wasn't that good till i added the juice/attitude i only run it on level 2 as that seems to be the sweet spot. Any high and i don't think the tranny would hold much higher. I would like to have the tranny built but don't have anyone locally and i'm not ready to do it my self or drive somewhere to do it. I guess i'll just wait till i have to tow...

they go on easy and fast. on the reserve air there is a better way to do this. if you look at the air control unit there is a pressure switch on the left side. unscrew the switch and insert a t install a air chuck in the tap.the pressure switch has two wires on it. the one going to pin 42 of ecm cut and insert a diode, point the banded side of the diode to the switch. now mount a spst switch ...

I'd pull the intercooler and tilt it up on one end to make sure there isn't oil/metal debris in it. If its got oil in it, you can take it to a good radiator shop and they can flush it out. If its got metal in it, you're probably better off buying a new one.

I have heard of the caps cracking before, but apparently that was not the case with yours... I replaced the plastic fuel filter cap on the '05 with a billet one from Geno's, before I ended up getting rid of it all together when I installed an Airdog lift pump. I am assuming you replace the o-ring every time you change the filter? Seems very strange; maybe it wasn't quite torqued enough and ...

Assuming the wiring harness is OK, a replacement heating element can be ordered online from MoparPartsAmerica for $54.24. The Dodge part number is 5003619AA. Have you verified the heating element has an open or shorted circuit using an Ohmmeter? For the oil vapor smell, does your 3500 have the usual crankcase breather assembly located on top of the rocker cover with the ...

Tubes are a great free place to start. Torque them and see if the cranking pressure comes up. I'm assuming the filter is new? You need at least 3500 psi to get it started. If you need to get it running before, you can use propane or worst case ether, but be very careful. I was playing around today with a 6.7 and while running if one connector tube was cracked the engine would die. From tight ...

Once you have the rail capped, that will eliminate that possibility. You have had your injectors out once... right? If your cross tubes are leaking, you may not be able to maintain enough rail pressure to fire. You can start by unplugging the wire harness to your FCA, this will max your rail pressure to about 27k at idle, do not drive it this way, just to test. If it starts, then you know...

My truck with the original 48RE transmission now has 117,000 miles. I have the Edge Juice with Attitude and never run more than the 'tow' setting. For the past 4 years we have been fulltime RVing, so a fair amount of towing our heavy fifth wheel across the country back and forth. I have never had any service issues with the transmission...standard fluid and filter replacement, no adjustments ...

Can you verify whether it's motor oil, antifreeze, or diesel? With leaks it's often hard to tell where they are coming from. It helps to know what fluid is leaking. Lots of times where the leak is actually occurring is different from where you are seeing the liquid accumulate. If its motor oil it may be a front seal or gear cover. If you are just seeing an occasional drip you have some time...

Once you remove the unit bearing the axle yokes will fit through the hole. Getting the unit bearing out may be an issue depending on how rusted in it is. Do a search on unit bearing and you'll see quite a few have had a tough time getting them out.
