Thats exactly what I had to do when I used the LS1 translator, you will need the "buick" adapter for the maf harness, it's like 25.00.

Yes, but he's not talking about an ls1 maf (I don't thing), I believe he's talking about an LT1/LS1 Translator. A different animal.

Translator question

Quick question, A guy on another board has a translator for sale. Are the translators car specific? He said it was an LT1 translator and the pic looks like the other translators I've seen here. This is the info he sent me: "CFG. L6.1 number on it. I bought it for my 95 obd1 car." So will it work on a Buick?

It's going to be tough finding other Buick users using this system. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it. The lack of Buick support and inexpensive used FAST systems have kept most people away from these.

I am looking for an ECM that has inputs for boost/alky based off of 3 position switches . Namely 10psi/ 15psi/ 20psi/.......No alky/ 25%/ 50%..... I doubt if this is possible but if it is it would make a good project.

Buick, LT1, LS1 Translators are the same internally. Just a different connector. Mitsubishi DSM 1g, and 2g are the same internally, just a different connector. Supra and EVO have their own distinct versions. So, an LT1 translator will work on a Buick, just set the switches inside accordingly. Bob

I'm guessing, since there are vehicle specific translators, that it won't work on a Buick. Has to do with the software image burned into the main microprocessor inside the box.
