I would ask to hear a
cold start up. Listen for noises. Ask if there's ever been any bodywork done. Original paint? Make sure the VIN has the "7" for turbocharged. Sniff the inside of the car for moisture odors. Look around for rust....wheel wells, bottom of the doors. A/C work? Tranny shift good? Does car smoke? Check all fluids. Post some pics if you can, we can help more that way.

What is your fuel pressure set at? Have you removed the plugs and looked to see if any are real dark or different from the others? You could have a stuck injector. Have you done a spring cleaning? I get 24 mpg on hwy.

I don't know if you have already tried but put the center of the flare tool in a vice and crank down on it. The bolts at the end are not enough and you'll see a bow in the middle of the bars. If you can't bring to a
vice, try vice grips to get more clamping in the center. If still no good try a hydraulic flare tool, much better and will grip no problem but expensive.

as long as the chrome is in good shape(no pitting or flaking) it will be fine. I like to lightly scuff chrome before coating, but not always. It just needs to be super clean. Some say don't
powder coat chroome I've never had a issue.
