And lastly the 3 dead O-rings I bet the left one was the culprit. And three good ones in the bag I got for free from a well respected turbo buick owner. I will try to measure them up as I have three sets.

Moog #5413 users-what shocks?
Published (2009-11-05 22:04:00)
Dont quote me on the S10 shocks, I'm not positive they are shorter but if I remember correctly they are. Thats the problem with lowering springs, at least these keep a good spring rate instead a weaker rate of the longer springs. I'm going to look into the shocks once I start playing with the Regal a little more. I still would rather have the 5413's or BellTechs that Hotchkis or Eibachs because of the better ride quality but...

If you jack up the car-the springs fall out of their mounting locations-obviously need shorter length shocks- maybe the S-10 ones will work.

Drove about 50 miles today and we are sitting at 26 3/4" or so. I am running a Currie Ford 9" rear on my GN. No isolator, just some hose on the top coil for now. If it doesn't settle enough, will be cutting coils, no biggie. Did have something funny happen on the test drive, dead animal in the road, RT 77 in Guilford CT, pretty windy road, guys in CT are probably familiar with it. Great for testing suspension and...

You're having a problem with the grounds on the car. Seen this before and has been posted before as well. It may also be your turn signal switch. Brake Lights not working Please help!

Stance looks pretty darn good to me Mark. I wouldn't worry too much about that last 1/2 - 3/4" you're looking for. Drive it a while and I'll bet it settles in close to where you want to be. Obviously springs aren't an exact science due to varying manufacturing tolerences. You'll be needing some dbl-adj rear shocks if you go much lower in order to stiffen up the rear to keep the shocks from bottoming out. I...

Or is it possible to go with a 17x9.5" on the rear with a 5" backspacing?? Possibly a 295/45-17 rear tire?? The frame is NOT notched, not do i really want to go that route yet. I would be willing to roll the fenders to accomodate. Thoughts??

Take your shocks to the parts store with you and have them size a set up. I use stock shocks with my 5413's but they are a little long and allow the spring to wiggle when the car is lifted. I dont worry about it in my Regal because I dont plan to go airborn but it would be nice to not have to hassle with it! I believe S-10 are shorter than the G-Body shocks. I havent got that far yet!

One thing that will help is to remove the steering shaft. When you do it, do the jeep upgrade for the shaft. If you have a ratcheting wrench it speeds the process quit a bit. That's pretty much it. I believe UMI has the lowest price on a stock replacement tubular for the uppers and they hold up pretty well.

MityVac. Pulls the fluid through the bleeder screw without pumping. I have my own method for bleeding though: I have a spring loaded brake pedal lock used when doing wheel alignments that I use when bleeding brakes. It's like having an extra man helping me. Pump the pedal a few times, then set the brake pedal lock. Open the bleeder screw and the spring keep the brake pedal going down. Close...
