Obviously you did not build a Recovery Disc originally? You can just order a Recovery Disc from HERE If your machine is not supported, then then sometimes the Fujitsu forum members will help, at Their Forum That's 3 ways of getting your Recovery media. I hope it helps

When exactly does the message pop up during installation? You might be able to bypass it for the time being if you disconnect the power to your optical drive.

Clicking noise? Hard drive problem?
Published (2009-11-25 01:47:00)
Thanks! I started copying my files. I have an external drive with plenty of space. Need to go buy Norton Ghost. The clicking sound hasn't returned but the system keeps freezing or crashing. Some programs won't even open. Would hate to replace the hard drive and it be something else. Anyway of knowing for sure it's the hard drive and not the motherboard or something else?

The reason I wanted to hold off on the 2TB was because new technology like that always has issues. I've read a lot more negative reviews about the 2TB Caviar Green than I have about the 1TB Caviar Black (or Green), and I can more easily afford $110 than $200. And like I said, I'm not ready to buy yet, I don't have the money to even think about it at this exact point, but I'm preparing for when I do.

Figured it out. The chipset drivers on the Dell site were up to date on my system, but nvidia had newer drivers on their site. Downloaded, installed, done. Thanks for the help, as always!

Defective Seagate. The problem is known to them. Usually the vendor will replace it, then await your return of the defective one.

Hey, I want to install Windows 7 using a USB pen drive, since I can't using my DVD drive; but I was having a problem - the cmd prompt wouldn't recognize the USB drive I had connected, so I checked and saw that its location is the same as my HDD. How can I change this? They are both on location 0, so the cmd only recognizes my Hard Drive. How can I change this? Any help would be ...

Enhancing productivity? I think that'd be going a bit too far for the regular user, unless you relied on specific workstation-type applications that thrashed your hard drive heavily and you could cut loading times significantly as a result of the upgrade. For normal multitasking usage, it just means a snappier performance across the OS and all-around app usage. However, I don't believe shaving...

Thanks gforce 360! I was scratching my head for 2 months over this problem. I had switched out my floppy drive and cable and updated my Bios to no avail. There are still a lot of DOS programs out here zipping files to floppies. Thank you again, you saved me.

Hard drive crashes... Depends on the speed in rpm of the drive, and the brand and model... Generally, you should expect three years of reliable use out of a laptop hard drive made by Toshiba, Seagate, Fujitsu or Western Digital. Five years out of a desktop drive made by Western Digital or Seagate... two to three years on a Samsung, Maxtor, or Hitachi, and one year on a Tri-Gem... EIDE drives...

I'm looking to add a few more harddrives to my system. I already have 4, but I might take 2 of those out and put their contents on a partition or something. Who knows. Anyway, I was looking at a few harddrives on Newegg, and always having been partial to Western Digital, they were the first once I looked at. This one immediately caught my eye, for obvious reasons: http://www.newegg.com/...

You could try restarting your computer and deleting them. If that doesn't work try using a different computer to delete them. The files you are trying to delete may be in use.

Good evening. I was hoping that someone would be able to help me access the security code that I had encrypted my router with. I lost the code and have tried calling d-link to no avail. I tried entering th ip address for the router and it is asking for passwords (that I forgot).
