Um, can I quote that post on all the similar Topics we consistently get like this? It would help. Even today I could quote it to 3 different topics. Also, I might omit the Dell part, because Dell is good; out of all the OEMs which one would you choose? Mostly you would state build your own, or get some computer shop to build you one But in reality, many just go and buy from the leading manufacturers (actually most do) Especially with Windows 7...

I found this what do u think The CPU is already set in the motherboard with its fan. This combo will include 2GB of Crucial DDR2 PC6400 RAM. These items are used, but the CPU has been tested in the motherboard and everything still works beautifully. For more information on the components, see the following websites: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor:...

It's not just that game, I tried Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 which the seller told me worked on it when he had it. I tried Football Manager 09, Championship Manager 06 and Monopoly 3D, all of which worked on my old laptop I have done clean install, using the HP recovery, which formats it, installs vista and then install all the drivers and HPware it was one of HP's suggested step I take,

You will need to install a AGP, PCI or PCIe DX9 or better graphics card. Your on-board video is too weak to run the game

No, they aren't the same. Crossfire only supports multiple ATI graphics cards and SLI only supports Nvidia cards. There are some motherboards that support both Crossfire and SLI but of those cards that support multiple graphics cards, most support only one or the other. In your case you would have to buy two ATI cards and get rid of your Nvidia card.

Your CPU is more likely to be holding you back since you aren't using a widescreen monitor or anything. The 8600GT is fine for running STALKER at lower resolution and higher texture settings for example. You have a P5K motherboard so I might look into swapping that Pentium for a Duo. I'm pretty sure you could use an E8400 which would give you a significant boost. They are cheap enough too so it ...

Yes you will need to upgrade your power supply. Now frankly, you won't really be running GTA4 too well on a $120 budget, while the 4850 is strong enough, you have to throw in a power supply into your budget too. Just as a side note, your processor is decent, I think it could be worth investing about $180 for a CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with ...

Can I just say, I wouldn't be updating this old machine I read all through your post and the dollar amounts, I was about to say get Ram, but thought ..no, you are better with a more modern machine with PCI-Express and Core 2 Duo at least. I'm going to give it to you straight. There hasn't been a single Dell Dimension made that ever qualified as a gaming machine. I'm willing to state that nearly every Dell in existence is an hunk of junk that could do more for the same price. You are still living in the days of the single-core Pentium processor, and 333mhz DDR RAM. What's worse is you have integrated graphics from before the ...

You got another monitor to try to see if you got a defective monitor? If by chance you are using a PCI-E or AGP card go into the BIOS and make sure you have the onboard video turned off or try pulling the card and using the onboard video.

Hello All, I have had my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for around 2-3 years now and I have never had any trouble. Recently its started to just drop out and my computer has restarted. I play Counter-strike 1.6 from Half-Life Engine. Now...
