I'm on the saddle search. I have tried several, and read much here. I "think" I know what this pain means, but am not totally sure... The saddle I'm trying now, I get a rubbing/chaffing/pressure/bumping type pain where my glute crease connects to the top of my hamstring. This could mean: 1) I need a T shaped saddle versus pear-ish ??? ; 2) saddle too wide??? My sitz bones ...

Okay, so I just put a Litespeed Tuscany in lay-a-way. (it's going to be a long three weeks). It isn't painted and has yellow stickers with some sort of yellow/grey camou-y handlebars. I got black matte bottle cages. And, I've read posts about accessorizing the bike. But, I just got new pink sunglasses that I've only worn twice! According to the LBS resident fashion police - the ...

It looks like I'll be going in to look at the Madones on Thursday, and I have a few questions for my wonderful team of advisors. --My options are the 5.1 and 5.2. The 5.1 uses Trek's white OCLV carbon, whereas the 5.2 uses the black. Is it worth the extra cost to go with the higher-level carbon? Weight is not important (either bike will be a huge improvement over my current bike), but I am ...

My mom wants me to get some kind of ID bracelet or something to wear when I ride so that people will know who to call if I am in an accident. Do any of you wear any ID? What can I get that doesn't look totally ridiculous?

Hi everyone! I've been "lurking" for a while and just posted on the "Getting to know you" sticky. Anyway, I bought a bike in the spring from Target-a comfort/hybrid-just to see if I even still liked riding bikes. This bike has been great and it's just fine for tooling around the neighborhood w/ my BF and our puppy in a basket. I WANNA GO FAST!!!! So, I tested a bunch of road bikes ...

Okay less then a month away. Who's going? This year we are staying in Boulder for demo days. Flying in on Sunday. I hated waiting in line for the shuttle buses, they seemed to take forever. Plus we can stash stuff in car or back to the hotel whenever we want. Wed/Thurs/Fri we're staying at the Imperial again. Total crap hole but cheap! We'll have a rental car all week so if you want ...

The Valley Spokesmen's Cinderella Classic ride has been changed from March 28th to April 4th, 2009. Mark your calendars! We will once again be offering training rides beginning in January 2009 to prepare you for the ride. Also, I am trying to help my son win a contest for 5th grade. He needs to collect one postcard from each state. Each postcard must be mailed and postmarked from the ...

So I test rode the Madone 5.1 today and it felt amazing. BF and I are picking up my new bike tomorrow! (I did not want to stack my new bike on top of my old one, since we took the smaller car). First of all, I got an amazing deal. Two months ago, the bike was around $3,100, not including tax. When I went to look at it over the weekend, it was $2,660. I got it for $2,380, including tax!! It helps...

Thanks Corsair... I don't know how long it's been since you were here, but this place has exploded! The growth is INSANE! Even my favorite "road to nowhere" will soon lead to a bunch of subdivisions! UGH!

Dear ladies, It's been eons since I've posted, being preggers and swamped with work and all. But I searched the threads here and found the coolest baby trailer: The Chariot SideCarrier . Only problem is, I can't find anywhere on the Web a recommendation for how old an infant should be before riding in a bike trailer. I'll keep looking, but I wanted to ask you ladies if you had ...

Garmin warning! - 8 new posts

I know the Garmin GPS bike units have been a favorite toy of myself and several others on this board, so I figured I'd give a heads-up: The Edge, apparently including the 205, 305, and 705, have a bit of an engineering flaw in which it will spontaneously turn off during a ride. When it first happened to me, I thought it was my own fault. Turn back on, it talks to the mothership, hit start...

I just applied for a sweet job today doing content management and copy writing for a bicycle e-commerce site. I was so nervous about the application that it took me three days for fear of making an error! It worries when me applications are really relaxed because I want to show my personality, but I'm afraid of coming off too casual. So think happy thoughts, pray to whatever deity hears ...
