(((Sax))) your post cracked me up I was doing really well at not gaining weight, other than the same 5 pounds I would gain and lose, back and forth, but I think it's going to become a problem if I don't watch it. I've been grazing a bit more and I know it will add up.
((Kooks)) hugs and prayers for you and your brother.
I bought myself a new
blackberry phone to celebrate not smoking ...

A great reminder and I can really relate. I've been there many times. Thanks for posting this. I'm new to the site and having problems with getting on with being a non smoker. 4 months 6 days quit and still just feel very sad and upset all the time.
Grieving. Why can't it stop? It's all in my head. Please help me.

Geez Cap, seems like everything was an impulse to me. People, places, and things if ya know what I mean. I was a tobacco chewer, so I had to change what I impulsively reached for. I filled my desk drawer and pantry with gum,
sunflower seeds, toothpicks, etc. Anything to relieve the oral fixation. Over time the cravings got much, much easier. I still instinctively reach for my can of Copenhagen ...

Hey wuzzled,
different strokes for different folks, you'll have to try and decide what works for you. Check out the stickies at the top of this forum, there's lots of cessation information. And please join in on the Daily Check-In if you feel so inclined, it helps some of us with being accountable.
I used WhyQuit - the Internet's leading cold turkey quit smoking resource for help too, but ...

It really is something else that this guy is doing all of this on a voluntary basis.
I've been known to praise
Allen Carr's book but he obviously made a lot of money from his books and workshops, which I'm not knocking.
I wanted to help people with this too and contacted Allen Carr foundation to enquire about becoming a counsellor, but they made it very difficult to contact people or get ...

I don't have the words to describe how I feel after watching that. Tragic, heartwrenching, sad, but also inspiring, so many things come to mind.
I don't have too many memories of my Mom where she didn't have a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other, other than the couple years before she passed away. She gave up the cigs when the
radiation treatment on her throat started. I never ...
