Pepper steak?

recipe on cooking light I've made that one a couple times, it's tasty. Don't try to add the ginger and garlic to the flour mixture though, it won't stick to the steak. Just put in the ginger and garlic with the other ingredients.

Quote (westendgirl @ Jan. 02 2009,19:28) Have you looked at the website Tastebook? I am just looking at it now but you can add your own recipes/photos or use website ones and then have them print it for you. I saw that. I'm going to have to look at a local place we have in town that will put it together too to see where I can get the best deal for what we want. That is a pretty cool site. -------------- Yes, She Really Said That

I'm making something based on this one today: Split Pea Soup I do always put a bottle or 2 of beer in the soup, though, and I'll probably increase the carrots, onion and celery.  Oh, and fresh thyme instead of marjoram.

Need to make a very cheap and yummy

My favorite cheap meal is roasted whole chicken. You can usually find whole fryer chickens at the store for about $5. Brush it with melted butter or olive oil, salt, pepper, and some herbs if you have them, then stuff it with a few stalks of celery. Bake it in the oven in a large casserole or roasting pan with an onion cut into 8 big chunks, small potatoes, and baby carrots at 350 for about an hour to an hour and a half (until the...

Growing up, I used to eat pepper steak (from a package, eeep) and I remember it being really good. I haven't had it since I was about 13, and I doubt that whoever produced the particular meal I loved is still making it. Anyhow, I digress. My MIL gave boy some steak, and I thought that making a pepper steak dish might be a good way to cook them, so that I will eat the veggies, sauce...

Money is REAL tight right now. I love to cook for Paul, but it is usually pretty expensive. I need a very inexpensive thing to make, but something that will still be good. I watched a friend's cats while he and his gf were on vacation. As a thank you, he brought back frozen and vacuumed sealed fish from a deep sea fishing trip he took while on vacation. I've only cooked fish once, and it did not go well. First, how do I defrost it? Just put it in the fridge? Next, how do I cook it? How long, how do I know it is done? I have tuna, halibut, and some ...

I've started making new and different soups for my lunches for the week. I've been posting the really good recipes in everyone's journal and figured it would just make more sense to post them here for whoever may want to try them. As summer approaches I'm also straying into the areas of rice and pasta salads so there may be a few of those recipes here as well. Enjoy! ...

A couple years ago, Colin and I thought it would be a cool idea to log recipes we've made over the year, complete with pictures. Not everything, but things we really enjoyed. Quick question - Would I be able to carry packages of baked goods on a plane? I'd obviously have them wrapped up and put in my checked luggage, but is that allowed?
