Matthew: splash: what happened to the SC2? I don't know yet. I think the alternator has been going out since I've been getting engine speed buzzing while listening to AM stations. I've been trying to get it to run right ever since spinning the rod bearing down at the National Tour. I've replaced the crankshaft, the injectors, the timing tensioner, the spark plugs and cables, the cat. It eats oil so it may just be that is...

Hyundai Genesis coupe in STX
Published (2009-12-28 11:27:28)
TopGear8: Your right about the turbo car being faster. There's a lot of if's in what I wrote. I definitely was not saying the turbo models were faster. IMHO, very little information is available about the power levels and weight of these cars in STX trim.  I don't think either Genesis coupe will be a top dog in STX but could definitely be a trophy contender. They're just much wider and heavier than a WRX/BMW/RX-8,...

Davidss: SoloRacer.com: We sell a lot of Corbeau Forza's and FX1 Pro's for those cars... the Forza is going to sit about an inch lower if you use the Corbeau bracket/slider assembly for your car and mount the seats via the bottom mounting holes to the sliders. Is there a height difference between the forza and fx1?  Yes, if you are concerned about headroom with your helmet on, the Forza is going to sit about an inch lower...

offcamber: my OTS koni's can't take any more rear spring. The rear Konis can...you'll find people running up to 700 lbs/in rear spring rates with OTS konis without blowing them out and the shocks seem to be capable of damping them sufficiently. The limit on fronts seems to be about 500 lbs/in.

A better solution might be to just increase your rear spring rates. You could get a pair of 550 or 600 lb/in springs for a good deal less than $120.

Imho, it's too early to tell. Both models are STX legal (3.8 V6 & 2.0T), but it'll have to be seen just how much power the turbo cars can make with STX allowances. IIRC they are roughly 150lbs lighter than the V6 models, so if they can make similar power, the turbo models could be the Genesis Coupe to run. FWIW, even if they can fit 285's rear, that'll have no relevance in STX. They'll be ...

So, I was discussing next years plans with my co-driver, and the suggestion of an STX Fox body Mustang came up. Seemed a little off the wall at the time, but looking as some numbers, it seems like it might have a shot. 225hp 300lbs/ft, HP on par with most other STX cars, TQ is the best I've seen Listed curb weights down to 2754lbs (might be for a 4cly, need to confirm 5.0 weight) ...

I shall start :) Jeff Cawthorne 2006 Mazda MX5 5 speed, silver San Diego I bought the car yesterday, but it has Koni shocks, Eibach Sportline springs, Mazdaspeed swaybars and an AEM cold air intake. The intake will need to be modified to be legal, but I will run it the way it is for a few months. I will be doing a ton of mods, as money and time permit. Tomorrow, 11/12/09, the ...

Anything is easy compared to your build Greg! I've never heard of someone replacing so many parts throughout a build except for maybe Craig and Jason on their second chassis. You think you can get that thing to run for every event next season?
