SP on ST tires?
Published (2009-12-22 07:27:00)
splash: Are you using street tires with SP prep and classing, or are you using them with SP prep and ST classing? Neither yet, but if approved it will be SP classing on ST tires.

I think it fits well. My friend has 1.6 Miata and he used that kind of air flow meter. He did not purchase new one or made necessary changes to install it.

SP on ST tires?
Published (2009-12-22 00:22:00)
Are you using street tires with SP prep and classing, or are you using them with SP prep and ST classing? If you are using ST classing with SP prep rules, you are done. The EF Civics are in the slowest ST class, and of the ST-eligible cars, are in the fastest SP class. Heck, CSP's index is roughly the same as BSP's index, and that's where the STU cars go. The BIG thing that is a real hinderance to the Civics prepped for SP, is...

SP on ST tires?

SeniorPBA2B: Our local non-SCCA region is contemplating allowing the use of ST-type street tires in the SP classes, as is used in the Stock classes ... using a 0.98 factor multiplied by the PAX/RTP Index for each respective class. Most of the members seem to be in favor of the idea as a means of increasing car counts and reducing tire costs (our concrete site chews tires like a cheese grater ). One objection uses the comparison of...

SeniorPBA2B: The "Frankenstein" EG Civic is now in FSP. Jim As is the "Frankenstein" EK. An EF in proper SP guise should definitely be faster than either the EG or EK in SP guise due to being lighter and privy to the extra years of development (even if they aren't that competitive against the other cars in CSP). I think your street-tired street-prepared indexing is pretty solid IMHO.

I think you would have to use 2 things at minimum... The proper sunroofless headliner A steel plug at least the same thickness as the rest of the roof to fill the hole. I don't feel I know enough about the other shell differences to comment on the rest of the conversion. I'd imagine there's quite a bit of interior panel and sound deadener differences. 182 STU

I have yet to see one fully prepared for SP. IF 13s will clear the brakes (I don't think they will), then a 13x10 and 255 hoosier would work well. But 15x10.5s and some 275 Hoosiers would probably be what you'd need to be competitive. I think one could snag a lower trophy spot at nationals, but wouldn't expect to win. If so, would it not then be theoretically possible to construct a legal leaf-sprung, panhard-bar'd, torque-arm'd live axle rear suspension with all attachment points metal? 15.8.C kills the leaf springs/crazy spherical bushing possiblity....but panhard/watts is legal but the forward torque arm mount should remain a stock type by my understanding. At the diff side heim joints are no issue. ...
