What EXACTLY are you trying to do?? If you are expecting to magically open numerous pay tv packages for free then you are going to be disappointed. Things dont happen like that even with the wonderful linux based Dreamboxes.

thanks mate, yes i have read this tut spent a good few hours reading it and trying to make sense of it but just did not understand the bit bout hops, the explaination you have just given me is perfect now i understand what hops means thanks

Read up the in the guides about using DreamUP, then post a specific question if there is anything you don't understand. You use an RS232 null modem cable to communicate between your PC and the DM instead of using the RJ45 cable you are using now.

i have a big problem with my eagle box.... before i touched i had gemini image for about 2 years.... then somebody told me to put in nabilosat... and was not good then i put wlg image and my eagle box is blocked..... they told me to flash a new image with eagle v 4 but it will not let me execute the flash because i cannot get the ip from my box... because is blocked.... when i restart i can see the WLG image but after nothing happen......

I am getting fedup with this stupid box,
I am using it with a "Stab HH100 Rotor with 1.10mtr solid Triax dish" and in London UK and with the latest Gemini Firmare Upgrade (As far as i am aware of) Via the Expert Setup / Internet Update and version 4.6 (20.12.2008) The problem is the motor moves sometimes and sometimes doesnt, so you never really know where it is sitting at, not only that, ...

hi can someone please help me, i am trying to learn how to create a sharing server to share with a few friends, i have worked out alot of what is needed but dont understand about hops.
i have read the cccam tut but cannot understand the section on hops properly, what exactly are hops used for and are they needed in all servers or only if you have more then one card in the server

Take a look in your modem/router web interface (If it has one). Usually they will list any connected devices.
If this doesnt work, use Angry IP Scanner to scan the network.

You may find that the box is not even connecting to the network.

You will need to use a serial lead to connect to the dreambox and dream up software to re-flash the box, flash xp won't work now I'm afraid.
