Are you getting sufficient signal quality on the transponder? Which satellite ( Orbital Position) Asiasat 3C does not exist, which channels? Are they Free To Air Channels?

the more accurate the better .. pays in the long run as does 100% vertical ...solid... pole how solid is the pole... one thing with going over the roof like that is you need a solid long pole extending above the top T & K to clear the roof... T & Ks can start to show their lateral weaknesses at that point although the 85 isn't the heaviest and that shape might help cutting the wind loading.

How to get Astra 19.2 and 23.5
Published (2009-01-05 16:24:00)
Hi, thanks again! I have uploaded a picture, link: _http://img53.imageshack.us/my.php?image=astra1evbjd2.gif On that picture of the footprint, i have drawn an arrow pointing at Malta, where I am at the moment. Looking at the footprint, I am outside the footprint area. Does this mean I wont receive the satellite, or would I just get low signal and have a chance of getting a watchable HD image with my CURRENT dish? Or do I need to get a bigger...

You sound like you have had exactly the same experience as me! (I wanted German channels). I have found out this so far. The motor scans a very specific arc where the satellites lie. this means that it has to be set up very precisely. You will be able to get it to point at one satellite but the chances are that if the mounting is not perfect then it will move away fro hte arc after only a couple of degrees turn and so you won't find any...

Mount Sky dish rotated 90 degrees?
Published (2009-01-06 04:24:00)
If you are hard up, then asking your local refuse tip manager nicely will get you an older style dish for next to nothing. It may actually be better as the bigger size means less chance of break up in poor weather. Though it does mean more accurate alignment is needed in the first instance.

Was looking for a dish to put on my flat, which is going to be relativity inconspicuous to get 1w/19e/13e satellites. Was thinking of the Self Sat H21D but apparently this will not work this far north (is this correct?). Then I came across the following available at Maplin: 45cm Square Satellite Dish with LNB Specs: Satellite dish suitable for digital reception Performs as well as a...

Make sure that your LNB settings are the same as the working one for whcjever dish you try it on, and also ensure that you are checking a valid transponder.

Hi Ive been trying to set up my new dish but with limited success. I have a new Penta 85 with my old Invacom 0.3 lnb on a Strong DM2100 (I did order the Motek but was sent the Strong Im not sure if the are identical or not ) all mounted on T&Ks and scaffold pole. I have had a1.9m dish installed in Spain with a twin LNB and a Humax Fresat receiver. I want to change the LNB to a quad, is this easy to do and do I have to have the same make LNB. Can I change the bit at the back with the outputs on it, it sems to be fitted with 2 screw bolts on to an aluminium ring with numerous screw holes, and is it critical to set it at a specific angle. Sorry if vague but...

The dish could just need tweaking a little? You could try ringing a satellite man up and see how much they charge.

It'll work but you may have difficulty mounting it and it may not give the best performance because the S_y dish is wider than it is tall whereas most dishes are taller than they are wide, but I think you'll only notice the difference on weaker signals

Basically im wanting to get Finnish tv (not Canal+, just the free channels over there) I have a 1m motorised system, which comfortably picks up a good signal for the channels on Thor. So, if i got a Finnish Freeview box, and looped it into my Technomate Receiver, would this box allow me to view the channels? (they are all Conax)

I prefer the Technomates personally, eg the TM5400CI+ for SD or the TM6800/6900 for HD or the ClarkeTech equivalents if cheaper. But there are lots of other choices, like a Linux box, eg a Dreambox 7025 or DM800 HD. Or I think Duolabs were doing receivers with Diablos built in (Q-box I think) The Diablo is more popular than the Dragon at the moment it seems. A lot depends on what ...

Hello! I am a noob in the area of Satellites and dishes and LNBs. I have really tried hard to find information about this but all I'm getting is general explanations about LNBs. Apparently, someone told me that in my 2-LNB setup, one LNB is pointed at Hotbird and the other at Astra 19.2, and these two LNBs are connected to my receiver through a DiSeQc switch. My question - I want to ...

Most 2 way DiSEqC switches should be ok as you only lose around 1.5dB - workable

Hi, I had a Technomate 5200D with an 80cm installed just before Christmas and the guy mentioned about monoblocs so I figured I'd buy one and try setting it up myself! The system was all installed and recieveing Astra fine, I did a little research and when my monobloc arrived I popped it on and could recieve probably 50% of the Hotbird channels. Anyway now Christmas has passed I decided today ...
