IRWebclient: error when...
Published (2009-11-29 12:56:00)
We experience a sporadic "error when uncompressing data retrieved: *Data Error*!" while processing a query with IR webclient 931. The problem occurs on several webclients but on other desktops it does not. The IHTML processes fine. Any one an idea? reinstalling interactive webclient on the same pc does not help. Completely reinstall the pc (os and other client software including interactive webclient) does help.

Have you tried emptying the browser cache and/or cookies? I've seen this on another app (not Hyperion) a long time ago and that fixed it.

Hi Detlev, Thanks for your response You are right database connections are used to create the reports but later those connections are stored in reports. By testing couple of reports i have came to know that issue. But the only way is to migrate the reports from web analysis 9.x to 11.x is manual procedure. As they have mentioned in the documentation saying that we should create a new database connection with the new server (11.x version) and...

Reporting on Oracle CLOB DataType
Published (2009-11-26 01:49:00)
Hi. I've found and interesting answer here: http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/11/12/oracle-bi-ee-101332-working-with-clob-fields/ The error is and OCI error ! I learned that the problem is related to the "distinct clause" which is not supported for CLOB fields ... Also GROUP BYs are not supported for CLOBs I solved my problem using VarChar(4000) insted of Clob. Bye, Andrea

Web analysis Prompts
Published (2009-11-23 09:31:00)
Using the web analysis studio you can add the pictures, text boxes, grids, etc. to a web analysis "report" and use SAVE AS to replicate. We do this and Save it into a non-public template folder, then open the template in the studio and change the data source on the grid or chart, SAVE AS to whatever new report and we have the common look and feel for a series of reports. (Unless I misunderstood your question)

As I have another application in HFM, I would like to know if it's possible to change de database of this reports to the other application ( this second application is a copy of the original one, but we have created that one for users make tests on it and not in the original one). Thanks for your help.

It's probably better to move the geography into the POV as it doesn't need to be duplicated in the rows and will allow a faster retrieve (unless you're doing some other calcs/retrieves). You can then use POV and Children of Current POV in the rows. Are you adding the heading as a page header? IF so you should be able to just use: <<MemberAlias(“...

if its the same as in 93 (and why should they change anything for this non strategic app ;-)) the report connection is not connected to the report after you used it in a report. So when you have 10 reports with databaseconenction A and you change db connection A to B the erports do not change with it. the connection is included in the report. But when you ...

Can you put put Geography in the grid row as Children of Current Point of View for Entity (Inclusive)? The function <<POVAlias("Grid1", "Geography)>> will work then. Yes, you can have prompts in columns and rows.

Hi Yagna, When you say- Hyperion Analyzer, I believe- You're with 7.x ?? Well. I'm not sure how many reports you're to migrate. The procedure is as below: 1) Create the database+(Relational/Essbase/HFM/SAP...)+ connection file+(like you've done in Dev.)+ for the Server.app.db which you want the new server reports to point to. 2) Export the ...
