for PIs based on any view type object you need to explicitly define the PK (a virtual PK essentially), normally based on the columns from the underlying primary table. need to be careful that you do not get duplices coming from the view however. The PK need is because the views are created as tables in the client database. another alternative (may or may not fit your application) is to create complete refresh PIs for these lookup tables,...

although i believe you are absolutely right on the "get used to it" thing, it is very hard to make other people understand it .we didnt try the msync class, that class would require us to build a graphical environment of our own in order to show the progress of the synchronization. we do not have any autocommit information, no auto synchronization items.

I dont see any downfall except that binaries would be signed from someone other than Oracle. (take it with a pinch of salt and the usual disclaimer.... this is solely my opinion and does...

Thanks Gary, Actually we have a view, but the base table don't have any primary key values. Is there any document which will explain about the Virtual Key generation for the Publication Item. Thanks. With regards, Kali. OSSI.

I am using Mobile Server and Oracle Lite to provide mobile copies of the database to a small set of users. We have an application that some users use to update data on the mobile databases, and the same application is used by other users who are permanently connected to the main central database. Mobile users will synchronize with the central database whenever they return to their home office. On both they central Oracle database and the...

Oracle Lite binaries for Windows Mobile devices are signed. These signed binaries appear only in release version. When a patch is released, the binaries in those are not signed. This is a conscious decision taken by Oracle Lite.

Maybe i found a way. Create different sequences, with unique names related to different schemas. Create synonym (as script) in the publication with the wanted name. There are other ways?

The client database files are really flat files, and therefore there is no real way of re-using the free records caused by records being deleted. new records get appended to the files so they have a habit of continually growing. The only way we have found to recover space is by doing a rebuild (sync, delete olb files and odbc, and then do a new sync via ...

Add a virtual primary key. The other thing you can do is download those tables to the client and just create the view on the client. Really depends with this is a WinCE device or a Laptop I guess.
