Have you tried emailing the flamingo and asking them when he is dark? I emailed the Lance Burton theatre back in September to ask when he was dark, and they told me even before the annocement had been made. In fact, I have made a new email friend with Lance's ex assistant as we have been exchanging emails since then. It is worth a shot.

Good points Auggie. It's hard to believe that MGM has that many more rooms than Harrah's - and with the city center adding another 5,000 - 6,000 rooms will bring them to almost 40,000 rooms - amazing. Your right as well that because of the location of Planet Hollywood in relation to their other properties it just makes good business sense to acquire it if they can - and, if and when this economy does get better will be a good income...

There's a Whole Foods Market at the Town Hall Mall. Located a mile from Mandalay Bay. This is from Vegas4visitors website: The newest and most original (in a retro kind of way) shopping experience in Las Vegas is called Town Square and it really is worth your time, whether you’re a shopaholic or not. Located about a mile south of Mandalay Bay near the Las Vegas Outlet Center, Town Square opened late last year and is rapidly becoming a...

It is as big and busy as you are fearing. But it is a fun time and the crowd is awesome. Very relaxed group that plays hard and is there to gamble. I seem to always get there during NFR despite preferring slower times but I never regret going. Table limits are noticably higher (atleast they were when I stayed at the Mirage) I had no intention of going this year until yesterday but....well ...

I just stayed at the Excal and drove up the road to the McD's across from the Luxor/MoBay there is a liquor store in that strip plaza with most staples. Just a couple doors north is a Variety Store that doubles as the reception for a motel (super 8 maybe) They also have beer, pop, souveneirs and their red bull was only 1.99. even if you pay a buck or so more for a 12 pack it's very convenient ...

I think the date is just too far out. I wouldn't even start looking at making reservations for next September until probably July.

This is probably the best time for them to do it - with how things are now it will make it much harder for Planet Hollywood to resist a takeover attempt. For increasing their amount of debt, the Planet Hollywood debt will really only increase Harrah's total amount of debt by about 3.5%. Thats such a small amount compared to their outstanding debt that it won't really have a negative ...

I don't necessarily disagree with any of it, but I wonder how the recession will affect the reality of tipping.

That's a good question. Looking at the map, Harmon Avenue runs between Vdara and Aria, but I would assume that there would be some kind of pedestrian access, but maybe not? I know there is a covered walkway from Vdara to Bellagio and the Bellagio Tram stop. The tram has an Crystals/Aria stop, so I suppose you could use the tram to get there, but that kind of seems the long way around.

Couple of quick things: #1 - I think your budget is right on - figure around $500 per bottle after everything is said and done and yes, you definitely will need 2 bottles with a group your size. Remember, drinks at the bar average around $20 at these clubs. #2 - "Bottle Service" is more than just the booze - there are a lot of extra's you will receive in addition to just the alcohol & ...
