thanks for the link i just might do this swap. the caravan is much more reliable plus the 4 speed auto would be amazing. maybe a little extra work, but who cares. that would be a cool car!

Best way to pull a motor?
Published (2009-12-02 06:38:00)
I use the cam gear bolt and a bellhousing bolt, I have also used the intake and exhaust manny bolts as well. The first time I left everything on, except the header and I took out the radiator...I left the powerr steering and a/c on the engine. You may not be able to see a whole lot, but hopefully these help a little. And this is what you are left with, all the wiring still in the car. Hope some of that was helpfull to you.

it was done a long time ago. they also put a supercharger on it. was a big ugly beast. a 2.5 v6 has been done with an atx, runs low 16's. no other reason to do it other than saying you did it. easier to make the neon go quick with whatever motor is already in it.

It could very well be lube/oil that found it's way in the combustion chamber during assembly, but it's more likely something like worn valve stem seals letting oil in.

I'm thinking about moving my coolant reservoir and looking for ideas. I want to keep my ac so putting it in place of the ac canister is a no go. Neither can I put it in the bumper by the evap junk because I have my battery there. Does the reservoir need to be on the same level as the waterneck? I was thinking of fitting it somewhere lower down out of sight

i think you've been mislead, or you misunderstood the 2.4 and 2.0 will make the same HP if they have the same cams and other mods, but the 2.4 will make that power at a lower RPM, with more torque. so say a 2.0 peaked at 7800, with 175 hp and 135 ft lbs, the 2.4 with all the same parts would peak at or around 6500 but with 175 hp and 165-170 ft lbs of torque. those numbers are just an example, ...

Would love it if they mass produced the 26 and 28 grinds and not charge the "custom" premium. The 18 is hardly a radical grind.

i bet youd like your muffler more if you got a resonator. thats basically what the cat did. get a glasspack or a moroso spiral flow, and put it in the tunnel and it will mellow out the tone. ive got a long tube header on my car with 3 inch collector to 2.5 flex to factory piping with a 29" cherry bomb, perforated core, to a flowmaster 80 series, and i have it setup with dual exhaust, srt style...

3200 posts and you haven't pulled a Neon motor yet...? I think I ran a bolt through a chain into a PS mount somewhere, and then a bolt into the top tranny-to-engine bolt. Engine came out a bit crooked, but these motors are light enough where you can just push 'em around. And I think I left everything attached, but I definitely pulled the radiator. And the exhaust manifold (I think...). Been ...
