Congratz you have had a code bad enough to toss your car into limp mode. Do the "key dance" in my sig and report back. My guess is on a cam sensor.

If you are just looking for the lower mileage of the other engine, it's a waste imo. As long as you take care of it there is no reason that your current car won't make it to 200k miles or more.

No worries about emissions, Insurance would of covered it if it had full coverage on it. Right now it is parked for winter and full coverage isn't on the car.

If you do find how to do it, you should certainly post it as a how-to. Have you looked/asked on 2gn.org? You might find the answer over there. It's a good source of info on the 2nd gens. Good luck with your Neon-preservation project. it's always nice to drive a car that's not just one of the herd.

OK so this morning i was going to come to work and tear apart the dash and see what was up. I think i lucked out with the snow falling on my way in. my front defrost stopped with the smelly air and now my rear defroster is dead. Am I crazy to now think that something has melted affecting my rear defrost? I do use both at the same time so that would make sense with me thinking it was the front making the smell. whats your guys take on my...

i have an 01 rt and an 05 sxt, the sxt is coming up to 100k miles with no problems, the 01rt is wrecked with 39k miles, i want to install the rt eng and trans into the 05, along with the rear disc brakes etc and then run the rt up to 100k miles then get rid of the car, is it pretty much bolt in and go, i realize i will have to swap ecm and harnesses and guage cluster.

I would be interested in knowing how this works out for you. I'm having the same problem with my '00 Neon. I've replaced the t-stat and checked the blend door. Engine comes up to temp but the heat is only luke warm. I haven't tried cleaning or flushing the heater core.

I'm new to 2gens ive had 1gen forever but never had a problem like this. when i turn the dial to front window defrost the hot air stinks like hell. i cant even pinpoint the smell because ive never smelled anything like this. its not a dead animal and it sure doesn't smell like coolant. if i turn the dial to the vents the smell almost goes away. i really have no idea what it could be but if you ...

The situation. I have recently purchased a 2gen neon which was destined for the crusher. There is one key fob that works with the car. I have another fob of the same type bought mistakenly of ebay. The Question. How do I go about programing this spare keyfob to the car myself, without having to go to the dealer. The Reason why I would like to do it myself As the only dealers that deal with ...

So it appears that my 03 neon sxt has a heater core leak. Started smelling coolant and i'm getting that fog on my windshield. The core itself isnt that bad, like $60 or so but i've been told that it is expensive to get replaced due to the time it takes to get to the actual core. My question is, has anyone done this replacement themselves, and if so, how hard/time consuming was it? It looked...

Id suggest replacing it. If it totally fails the car enters limp mode and its NO fun at all. I know this because my cam sensor went out on me also on my 04. To remove just unplug the connector and remove the 4 10mm bolts. With the right tool it should take 10 minutes tops. If you like more room to work id suggest taking out the battery to give you some space. Also do this repair with the car ...
