It is sucking in oxygen before the upstream o2. The o2 doesn't know it didn't come from your motor so it adds more fuel to get it right, but that never happens cause it is still sucking in pure oxygen. Unless I missed it I don't where you said what...

Published (2009-12-06 22:46:00)
I am a very optomistic person when it comes to what lies ahead, though usually it never turns out right. That is why I'm prepping myself for a big project now, so when it comes time to execute it, I can handle wheather I can do/afford it, or decide it isn't for me. The Project: Purchase and install Crower stage 3 cams, Fidanza cam gears, new head gasket, and Crower valve springs. Pros: My car will sound rather sick with a loping idle...

Battery Light
Published (2009-12-06 12:43:00)
Dustinsuglyhighline wrote: The battery light on means the PCM is not seeing it's targeted charging voltage. The PCM controls field coil voltage via duty cycling it. Thus controlling alternator output. If you remove the battery from a running neon (not the best idea) you will not get a batttery light. The light has nothing to do with the battery. So it has to do with my charging system, correct?

A professional port and polish can cost you several hundred dollars. Not worth it unless you have some mods to make full use of it.

I think you are really pushing the limits of the engine. That's like 230 hp at the crank. It's going to be expensive. Fun, but expensive.

Their return policy looks legit, so if it doesn't fit, you could always send it back. plus you're protected by paypal if you use it.

The oil coated socket is likely unrelated... probably just need new seals on your spark tubes. Whats the redline on a DOHC? Isn't it like 6750? Maybe you're just bouncing off the limiter and you don't realize it? Could also be your PCV sucking a crapload of oil from the crankcase, I hear DOHC engines could sometimes do that. Craig

Sooo i just picked up a nice little 98 2dr for 300$ cdn and drove it home (115k miles, but its that awful dark purple color ).. To my suprise it pulls harder than my other 98 2dr on the top end! both are dohc, 5spds, ac, ps, and have a CAI.. but my car has a few more mods like the st header, atx TB, fresh tuneup, synthetic oil.. it feels like my timing may be slightly off, or its running rich ...

I have a '98 Neon ACR coupe that I use as a daily driver and occasionally for autocrossing in the summer. I'm looking for a new set of wheels and tires that will look nice in the summer months, and benefit my autocross lap times (via weight savings and reduced sidewall size/associated roll-over). Currently, I use a set of ACR bubble rims (14x6, 16lbs) with Falken Azenis RT615s (195/60R14). At ...
