ADSL speeds are dependent on the length of your phone line as well as the quality of your ISP. Virgin are not generally rated highly as an ADSL ISP on any of their packages.

The best way, in order to retain the quality, in to use WinRar as indicated above to joing them in a single package(you can create a self extracting package to make it easier for the recipient) and then to upload them using the free option of YouSendIt . This will produce a link on which your recipient can click on in order to download and save the package to their computer. Of course there is the danger that you have no idea about what I am...

I've just posted a new thread about this not realising someone was already looking. I set my sights on £50 for one. I've seen plenty under £!00 though in ads in the paper. I believe it was a currys ad. I think you can definately do better than £100.

Download winzip, and add all the photos to a zip file, this will send them all together and should compress it small enough to be able to send.
You just need to make sure person other end has a way to unzip them by usin same program.

Before worrying about having to pay, click on download winzip, not buy, and tescroll down the nextpage, and it says get ...

Unless I missed it, the survey doesn't quote how many of each brand were tested.
Unless those figures are roughly the same, the study and it's results are flawed.

I have read loads of stuff on MSE this morning and am now a bit overwhelmed. The situation is as follows:
I have a Virgin Broadband package and accept that the speed is not good because of distance from the exchange.
The main pc is linked to a netgear modem router via ethernet cable (in the study); I can pick up wireless on a laptop in the lounge area (bungalow with stud ...

what I would do is to uninstall Avira using Revo Uninstaller (which is a free tool and does a much better job than normal Windows uninstaller) and then re-install a fresh version of Avira.
You can get Revo here

I think they just sell the Student and Teacher Editions of Microsoft software, which is exactly the same as the normal versions, except with a license clause that states you have to be in full time education to use it. I'm sure I've seen posts on these forums saying that the company seems OK.
