Hmm, Hayley, the tracking details show that they had left a calling card at the wrong address and had arranged a second delivery date with them. I think you're right about the reason for refund though. missile, I think I was too naive. I had faith that Amazon, being such a large and experienced retailer, would have the correct processes in place to deal with such a simple dispute (don't laugh!). And also from my good experiences...

My husband and I attended the holiday show at the N.E.C.Birmingham a few weeks ago. Then I received a phone call to say I had won a holiday. They then called my husband to confirm a few details.

Whereas on the flip side I'm nearly 24 and still get ID'd every time, whether its in the pub or the supermarket. Even after work in work clothes, with friends who are my age and upwards.
I don't look young, though probably not over 25. I understand why they have to do it but it is tiresome.

Erm, did you complain in McDonalds? What did they offer? At least give them a chance to rectify the issue before kicking off (although admitadly it does look pretty shocking to serve that).

Perhaps they have had problems with the store managers. I would not jump start someones car from mine, in fact the handbook specifically states you should not. Many modern cars can be damaged this way. I would contact their HO and ask them to explain their policy specifically in the light of the information I have quoted above. I think the store did quite well despite the company flawed ...

Although I do think the responsibility lies with the individual (leaving aside cases where that individual may have learning difficulties or similar), I do agree re the banks. Myself and my wife are currently on benefits due to my wifes disability and my having to care for her yet I have £15000 available on credit cards and a £5000 overdraft facility! Not that I use them. Was it black cab or private hire Obv with private hire hopefully you can track down the company, with black cabs i'm not as sure, i think they are licensed by the council so contacting the council might be the best option. Also i know your upset but is there anyway you could write down what happened whilst ist fresh in your mind, it may help later.
