If you are due to travel this week then I should take advice directly from the Passport Office; information regarding how long anyone else's renewal has taken is not really going to help is it?

The british consulate may be able to issue you with an emergency travel doc, this process is almost immediate, however im not sure what the criteria is to get one, i know we often see people with them but they have usually had their passport stolen, so part of the criteria may be a crime ref number?? ring the local consulate and check.

I used a credit card to book this P&O deal and was charged £2. I'm normally careful to use a debit card where sites make it clear they charge extra for using a credit card but I didn't see any reference to this on their site. Worth watching out for if you're going to book this deal.

It depends on the airline you are flying with. Some of the main tour operators include a free baggage allowance of 15 or 20kgs. However if the flight is with one of the low cost carriers it may be extra.

I have been on a cruise where someone's case got delayed, so many of the passengers rallied around and the ship gave her credit in the onboard shop whilst the bag was delivered to a later port stop so she got it after three days. Is the flight part of the package for the cruise or have you booked each independently? We have cruise in Jan with independent flights but travel out 3 days before we ...

Yes, been there and done it. Don't buy Cruise Ship tours at any price, they are at least twice the going rate. Wait until you arrive at the port and the locals will offer the same tours at half the price and are generally of a better quality and in a smaller group. St Lucia - visit Pittons ( spelling!!) preferable by boat. Overland is tiring. Dominica - Rain Forest probable the best ...

Hi James! Sorry, can't advise re Eurostar, but although your ferry will be costing £55, I imagine you're going to be spending AT LEAST that again in petrol, plus there could be motorway tolls to pay, plus the time factor out of your short break and at that time of year, possibly poor weather conditions for driving long distances. Have you used the MSE flight checker to check prices? If ...

This bit used to be my signature, but I'll paste it here for easy reference. I've travelled to NYC, 11 times already, and my 12th is coming up, since 2001, prices have dropped, gone up, and dropped again, and gone up again.. it is always a moving market, however, this is my opinion only on what kind of price people should be paying for a DIRECT flight from either Manchester, or the London ...
