We did indeed discuss this before and I think it basically came down to interleving as the only thing I could actually change. This was more about comparing new build housing developments and older, existing buildings and infrastructure. It could be that generally having a new house in a 'new' development could be worth a couple of extra meg simply because everything is nice and shiny.

Describing 5 GB as "unlimited" is a travesty. Orange is sinking fast.

Sky Max @£10/month with up to 20Mbps is hard to beat if you are on an LLU exchange. Remember that if you cease your TV subs then you would also lose the broadband. Also to get the above price you have to take Sky talk as well. Your speed depends on how far you are from the exchange. If you obtain your router statistics, and get the download attenuation figure this can be used to get an idea of what you can expect....

Virgin Media's throttling policy is actually a lot better than some other providers. You only have slower download speeds for 5 hours and with Virgin the speed you get will most likely still be usable. Some companies slow your speed down to half a meg for 30 days :O. 4GB is a massive file to download in one go I have never downloaded anything over 1GB. I personally wouldn't consider it so bad on Virgin's part. After all what...
