I'm afraid that if you are supposed to be signing on for JSA and haven't got round to it then you won't be eligible for any benefit and I assume your claim will have been closed. You can only claim JSA if you are available for and actively seeking employment so you need to make a new claim and sign on regularly and look for a job.

I don't think you can claim LHA for a place you are not living in for months on end. Does she ever live at the place in Leeds? Also, if she is under 25, she would only be eligible for the single room rate. The link below might help: http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_ad...sing_allowance

Assuming she is a British citizen, she will be in the same position as anyone else. She should be aware that some benefits are only paid to those who have already paid enough National Insurance contributions: she would not have been making these while in Germany.

My son had this experience at an IB medical - given no points. When we saw his report, there were so many mistakes we couldn't believe it was his. There were factual mistakes such as how long he had been ill and his home circumstances and information missed ...

I dont think there is anything else you can claim! Apart from MA if you have worked in your test period, but you cant claim sick pay at the same time as that I dont think.

On the face of it this sounds like its a snafu at the DWP. It looks like they were paying money for you on your mums Income support but also paying Incapacity benefit to you at the same time so there was double money somewhere
I think that, as its the DWP fault, you won't have to pay any money back as there was a recent ruling about this but I may be wrong. If you do have to pay the money ...

Give the school a call and explain the situation, they should have a fund to help parents pay for these trips. Last year my daughters previous school funded a couple of children in full and several in part.

Yes, sell your house and use the money to pay your rent etc., you may still be able to claim IB (I don't know) but if you have come into money which enables you to support yourself for a while then do so.

Having got a foothold in her chosen field (however tenuous) I think she would be mad to give it up to go back onto JSA! Plenty of people in her situation are doing this sort of thing on an unpaid basis just to get a foot in the door so the idea of giving it up because she's not much better off is just crazy!
I think she'd be much better off picking up a few extra hours work in something like ...

For means tested benefits I think the money can be disregarded for up to 26 weeks if your friend tells DWP that it's their intention to use that money to buy a house.

The obvious question first - as you both work fulltime who is looking after your 3 year old during those times? If grandparents then it is possibly free, but it also not essential for them to help you both. If using childcare, who is paying?
Under child benefit, tax credit and csa systems only 1 parent is able to claim those benefits.
To stand a chance of claiming yourself and her being ...

The law requires you, upon making a claim, to provide all evidence requested by a form authorised by the secretary of state. You did this.
The law also requires you to inform the SoS of any change in your circumstances that you could reasonably believe would affect your entitlement.
I don't think it's unreasonable to not inform her that you have spent the money she did not show an ...
