Wow, what a depressing rant... It is all psychology and you don't know what you are talking about. Life is good, go out and get it! You will find more enjoyment in life if you get healthy and lose the weight. You are stuck in a rut, but there is more out there, much more. Find an activity that you enjoy and go from there. Don't let food rule your life!

Could be anything... body adjusting, subcutaneous water, content of your digestive system... anything. Don't worry about it. And don't worry about a daily or weekly change. Track it and look at longterm trends. Want to post up details about your diet? Are you tracking it?

Your body needs good fats, your idea of fat being evil does not exist. Sure trans fat you want to stay away from but things like omega 3's are great for you. Nuts are also very good, natty peanut butter, seeds etc. Do a quick search and do some reading and you will find out alot more

Could be several things. You are replacing fat with muscle which weighs more. When you weigh would also make a difference. Try to weigh at the same point every week. For example, I weigh every Wednesday after my morning workout and before my shower. You could also be overestimating your calorie burn thus you are consuming more calories than you are burning. If you've kept track of your diet over the past week, try to back off the calories...

I don't think that is a very realistic goal. I think you could safely be there by the wedding but February is really pushing it. Most will agree that 1-2 lbs per week is a good goal for weight loss except in the case of very obese people. I would start working on it now and aim for your goal in June. Worst case is you have to have them alter your tux at a later date.

1-2 lbs per week is a reasonable goal. So that would put you 8-16 lbs at the end of week 8. Use an online calculator to determine your BMR/RMR. http://www.caloriesperhour.com/

do you lift weights? Do cardio? What do you eat on a day to day basis? What actually are your goals? lose weight or gain weight? You cant do both. See where I'm going? Need a bit more info.... People store body fat in different places, you cant change that by targeting certain areas, but you can do a lot to improve your overall body composition with a decent exercise regime and sound diet.

Great story, Andy. Make healthy eating and exercise part of your life. Don't be one of those people who say, "I gained 15 pounds over the holiday season." I think to myself, that's approximately 52,500 too many calories. How can you consciously eat that much? The better way is to develop a life habit of realizing what is going down your throat.

About a month ago I stepped up my workouts. I do 900-1000 calorie workouts 5-6 times a week. I do 30 minutes of fast-paced resistance training 3-4 days a week. My spontaneous erections are much fewer than before the workout increase. I don't have any performance issues when needed but I don't wake up aroused as much now.

Congrats on the loss! Keep it up You could look into something like Starting Strength, which will teach you extensively the main lifts like squat, bench press, DL, etc. In this case, you will be looking at high weight, low rep. This is a good way to go for a beginner like yourself. Other good beginner routines are Strong Lifts 5x5 or The New Rules of Lifting (NROL). As far as losing more fat...
