Yea mine was procharged I think at 23k. At 10psi from a p600b. It lasted to 72k or something. But that was because the fmu took a dump. Then the guy had another motor built. And still didn't figure it out. And cracked the rings in that motor. Which is how I got it. But it was raced everyday possible along with being at the track. So i could see a low mile motor lasting awhile. Which would be plenty to save for a built motor.

build the bottom end/ motor first as a stepping stone to what you want to do in the future.

I never saw pics of the motor. I kinda avoided those because I was afraid I would see some stuff that couldn't be unseen. After hearing about molten sodium and alot of the other stuff I was sure there was some kind of insanity under the hood. If it has low miles he may can get 50 or 60k more out of it before time comes to rebuild. Most anyone can afford to build something pretty nice in that time.

front or rear mount?
Published (2009-11-06 08:21:00)
There was a post on YB a while ago about this, in the end a member ran front and rear mount twins on a 10.5 car (or an outlaw radial car cant remember) and got damn near the same results (Hp numbers and times) with both. My personal opinion is its easier to run them up front. Im not a fan of rear mount.

what are your over all goals? what is your budget? i have found in my short time of owning a rear-mount system that most people don't like it because they bolted the kit up as advertised expecting monster horsepower numbers and track times then were sadly disappointed. i'm not trying to put down the system, i think it works great but stock exhaust manifolds w/heat wrap, tuning tuning tuning, ...

Usually on a superchargr, the boost is changed by changing out the pulley on the supercharger itself. Even sometimes like with the SVT Cobras they have to reflash their ECUs to accomidate (sp?) the extra boost. Check out magnachargers website www.magnacharger.com and just read up about it. I do think if i remember correctly that magnacharger is cheaper then vortec and procharger, but dont hold ...

Is this thing boosted? Now at idle when there is vac. It will pull vac in the pvc valve. So it will be pulling air in the valve covers. But that shouldn't hurt a thing. As it is almost the same setup as stock. You did cap off the tb where the stock hose went right? Now lower compression and cam profiles affect the vaccum. But then agian that is low. I am pretty sure i had around 20 vac on my...

What turbo or charger? The p1sc and d1sc guys run 9.1:1 -9.5:1. Um some of the turbo guys also. 9.5:1 should be good for 12-15lb's. You can run right around 8lb's with a intercooler out a p600b/p1sc on stock compression with a good tune. If it's a turbo it might not work to good as it will create more heat.

you would be better off getting a h/c package imo. sts can make some great power but lt1 pistons are not made for forced induction. an the life span of your motor will be ticking away. but you could get away with about 6psi as for how long only god knows.
