Allright, I'm kinda new here but I lift. I work out three times a week. Not always on fixed days, but with a workout partner at the gym. I am following what is called a 5x5 program focused on compound lifts, usually three core lifts in each workout followed by 0-3 assistance exercises. That is it. It takes an hour to an hour an half. I follow a specifically programmed set of weights and ...

I've been off the weight lifting wagon for nearly a year and am really looking forward to getting back into it (especially after my body fat percentage went from 28.5% up top 36.9%!!). When I lifted before I used to do different muscle groups on different days and was at the gym 5 days a week because of it. I can't do that anymore unfortunately, my schedule has changed and I can only get to ...

Okay ~ so I just started lifting weights and I am really liking it ~ well, I only did it once, on Tues, yesterday ... I could not move!.....O*M*G!! And after I lift weights, I went and swam laps and then hit the hot tub to help aid against a slow death in the morning! Didn't help one iota I was so sore ~ and I only did 5-7 reps on each machine because I was ...

Hello hello! I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I am joining the Canadian Reg Forces (Navy) and I will need to be able to do 9 push ups for the fitness test (there are other requirements too, but I can already do those..) .. Currently I can barely do one "man" push up - no they can't be the "girl" push ups - they have to be the "men" push ups, hands UNDER your shoulders - ...

It is said that the carbs equal the size of your fist. As English is not my mother tongue, thanks to answer the following questions: 1- would that mean the size of the palm + the fingers? 2- Let's say I am eating rice, How many table spoons that would be? Thanks.

I am not strong. Today I went out and bought a nice rebounder at the mall. The girl swiped my card and set a big box (5 inches deep) down for me to take. Oh boy, it was heavy (later I found out it's 30lbs exactly). I wanted to get my money back and tell her I'll be back with dh later to buy it but I was too embarrassed to admit what a weakling I am. So I carried it through the mall and ...

I'm starting to lift a lot heavier with BFL this week. And I've gotten better endurance with my intervals this week. But I've also noticed that my appetite has increased. Should I still continue to eat my body weight x 12 in calories or do I need to increase my calories a bit? Dyan

I CAN'T do a crunch to save my life!!! Not even one. I would like to start working my tummy out, to firm as I lose, but I don't know what would be the best method. Any suggestions?

Okay, so I finally bit the bullet and started doing squats. I am a beginner with these, so I hold myself steady using the back rail of the leg press machine to balance myself. I cannot believe how sore my thighs are. I was walking down some steps earlier today, and Man!, my legs feel like cement!. When I was doing them, they actually felt great. I did two sets of 10-12 of them, full squat, ...
