OU Fans Scared to come to El Paso

You'll get your car stolen in EP in the amount of time it takes to walk to the meter...but in general, yeah, you don't have to fear for your life... However, you're best advised to stay away from Juarez, especially if you're going to get good and gringo [censored]-up. Given that this is 90% of the reason anyone would ever attend the Sun Bowl, you can't completely blame them for not snapping up tickets... Post Extras:...

Anyone staying in Santa Ana?
Published (2009-12-21 15:59:00)
Crazy Horse was a legandary music venue. The old one along the 55 freeway was razed. It has moved to the Irvine Spectrum. As to the "where to stay" question, there is a ton of stuff within 5 mi radius of the airport. How much do you want to spend? You want motel 6 or Hyatt? You are flying into SNA, but it's not "really" Santa Ana. The airport borders Irvine, Newport Beach, and a tiny tip of south Santa Ana, and is a...

Agreed. I prefer cash in hand, but I understand why carrying several thousand dollars makes some people nervous. IMO the ideal meeting place is the lobby of a bank. Post Extras:

You guys better have some form of window flags, large magnetic Bevo's or something to accessorize the vehicles. Just sayin'. And this is a cool idea. It's fun to be trucking down the road and realize you are next to a fellow Horn and honk away. Same as running into them at a store or restaurant along the way. And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be...

I went to the one for the USC game and we had a blast. Old Towne is a long walk to the Rose Bowl. Like 1-2 miles. We parked in Old Towne and walked. Did not park at the Rose Bowl; it was a mess to park at the Bowl. I had no regrets. This year is about $30 more though per head. That said, if I was going to the game, I would be buying these passes. In reply to: The victims taken across the border to be killed in Juarez arent in that stat. Oh, you mean these two mother [censored]? In reply to: In fact, only two people have been kidnapped in El Paso this year, city officials said. And both were believed to be people who were stealing from the cartels; one man had his hands cut off, a common sign of that offense. End zone tickets for the last Rose Bowl were never $500. Maybe a single in the top row. Tickets started high and stayed high for months.
I keep telling everyone ticket prices will be lower this time. I know I am right, the question is how right.
And with no local market, those guys are going to be eating tickets if they dont find buyers by next weekend. Half the damn tickets are out ...

Longtime residents of Pasadena get some tickets kinda like folks who live in Green Bay. I think it's fair as far as the Rose Bowl is concerned. They took it from nothing to an international brand. However, they get their game on 1/1. The BCS title game should be more heavily tilted towards the two schools and the sponsor who is laying out serious coin.

I did not go in 2005, but I did go in 2006. It is the greatest sporting event I have ever seen and one of the most memorable nights of my life. I am planning to go back, but unlike 2006, I am looking for tickets on the open market.
2010 cannot top 2006, but a championship is still a championship, and always worth witnessing.

OK...quick-posting under my own thread (is that like talking to yourself?).
StubHub charges 10% plus $12 for shipping. Big difference on a $1600 purchase, but still silly high IMO.
Total bill for $1600 purchase: $1772
Maybe tomorrow I'll check into eBay's fees.

Excellent point...can't be too careful when dealing on craigslist.
Just my 2 cents though, if I were legitimately trying to sell my my tickets on craigslist, I might be hesitant about a cop coming to buy my tickets due to fear of being arrested in violation of "scalping laws." Its probably an irrational fear, but i would be concerned they might be doing some sort of sting operation!!...

That's a really bad way to vote. Heisman's shouldn't be about who has the most hometown-biased voters.

Actually, I don't blame them. The media says or alludes counter to what you say. I believe you, people I know who have been there believe you. But the media leads others to think it is not safe there. They make it seem more than it is and that it is more rampant. If they put out what you do or if you were a PR person for El Paso it may be different. But given the info available to the ...
