I use proxy to bypass starhub,singtel or MDA regulations to visit pornsites like youporn, redtube etc. I think that can be done the same for gaming.
Browser-based proxy is easier, don't know how for the gaming one.

well... to me netbook is a piece of junk. a P4 3ghz CPU is more powerful then a atom chip, I rather get a 12inch laptop if I want
portability.

did you try any other notebook hdd on ur dad's laptop to see if the same problem occurs?
