Starting price: $3299 w/ GTX 260M
GPU: GT 240M and GTX 260M.
If you ask me, the NP8690 is a better option armed with GTX 280M and good starting price. Alienware for users with eye candy priorities. The highest GPU the AW currently has is GTX 260M, and vs the 280M, you're looking at 15 - 20% ...

Not sure what kind of calculation you used, but when I configure a Sager NP8690 e.g. using MucroAsia's site with the following specs:
- i7-720QM
- GTX280M
- 4 GB DDR 1333MHz
- 500G 720rpm SATA II

MS Windows 7 Home Premium
The total I get is $2971 - that's $200 less than what you've stated below. And the Sager comes with faster RAM than the G51J.
