3-club tournament - What would...
Published (2009-12-04 01:55:00)
We play a 3-club, 9 hole tournament at my club once a summer as a Men's Club event. I love it, some hate it. Ours is a little tougher in that a putter counts as one of your 3 clubs and its individual gross and net (i think they use 1/2 handicap for the net but can't recall right now). I go with a 19* hybrid, 7i and 56* sw. I practice putting with the wedge once in a while so its not a stretch to use it for 9 holes, the hybrid is fine...

Cameron Putters

Thanks for you reply...I also have the squareback #1,and you are right, I really don't see how any other putter can feel better than this one....having said that, I'm going to sell it, because my gal friend is going to buy me the #2 for Christmas. It is almost identical , except it has the "plumbers neck", and I have a couple other Camerons that all have that style neck...I've always seemed to feel the club...

New Tour Edge CB3 at stores now!
Published (2009-12-03 14:48:00)
Just saw the new models at our local Edwin Watts, including the CB3 Tour that caught your eye. Our store still had plenty of the XCG-V models, both driver and fairway woods brand new. I like the looks of the XCG-V models better, but still haven't found a demo to hit anywhere. I don't even know a single person who even owns one piece of Tour Edge Exotics equipment.

3-club tournament - What would...

It's going to be my 3 iron hybrid (about 205), 7 iron (about 155), and a gap wedge (about 105). The trick is to back down on the clubs, hit the 3 iron 170 yards, or hitting the 7 iron from 120.

What 3 wood does everyone like?

Sonartec SS 01. Also have a TM200 smoothie, but the Sonartec is just too solid and long to move out.

Spike Question...
Published (2009-11-27 20:21:00)
I also seem to have a footing problem with soft spikes. I'm a lefty and had my right hip replaced 10 years ago at age 34. Though I will say that the hip is not the problem. It's very stable. My problem is my left foot seems to slip in wet conditions. I really miss metal spikes. So I did a little research and found a shoe with 4 soft spikes on the heel of the shoe. I haven't picked them up yet but plan to sometime this winter....

New Tour Edge CB3 at stores now!
Published (2009-12-03 13:34:00)
I just saw the new CB3 Tour yesterday at Golf Discount in St. louis Mo., really niced looking club and at a better price range tan they usually start them out at. The retail price is $299.99 and they have the Motore shaft in them. I spoke with the factory and they told me a boring trajectory is produced by this club, they do have a higher flying model which if I remember right is the xgv3 model. I'm still trying to find the right 3 wood...

last time I saw a 'ho like you, it was on TMZ a couple of days ago. I'd be wise to buy last year's models, but that hasn't been the case.

hybrid, sand wedge, putter long enough off the tee, high enough into greens, and easy to get diff distances by choking down and swinging easy while still getting height. wedge for around and into the greens. and you got to make the putts. those are my 3.

Putter grips are designed to be installed just like any other grip - they just slide on. The real trick is getting it lined up so the grip is square with the face. I usually eyeball the installation as best as I can and then set the club down with my eyes closed and take my grip. Once I'm comfortable that my hands are on the club the way I want them I open my eyes to see if the clubface is ...

I checked with a local retailer last evening and they said it isn't available to be ordered yet as far as they know. I have the Squareback I in my bag and it's a great feeling putter. It's very easy to line up and looks great at address with the 1/2 shaft of offset. I have the 33" with the 20g weights. It's in the bag for a while for sure.

The only 3 wood that I will ever play for the rest of my golfing days is the Great Big Bertha II. It's 16 degrees and very easy to hit off the deck. It's also very long in general, about 230 yards with my weak old man swing. I've tried many others but none can compare to the GBBII with the YS-6 stiff shaft. I also carry the GBBII 7 wood. Every bit it's big brothers equal. But the ...

Great review. Hopefully the other companies will come out with a similar system. It kinda s*cks guessing on what shaft works best with what head with your own particular swing.

Those CB and MB irons look great. They have always made nice looking blades.

I've been watching for this also. $269 is still more than I want to invest in a used driver. Especially, like you, I haven't been able to demo one. I have the original Exotics driver in the bag and it still works great. I also have 4 CB2 hybrids in the bag, best clubs I ever owned.
