You are entitled to your opinion. But there is a substantial popular and critical base of support for that opinion, which I proudly stand by. By the way - other than extreme cases (like your dismissal of The Godfather) I wouldn't be so petty as to make a derisive comment about your passionate feelings about movies. That is so juvenile, and you should be better than that.

Sorry for the delayed response Boca, but this isnt exactly an even field for younger actors is it. What you're saying basically, is that Saoirse has to be BETTER than her adult contemporaries, just to have a shot at...

Pook, I did say that it is very subjective on who is the best, but past performances shouldn't come into play. Not saying it doesn't.

This could be a premature prediction (but aren't all predictions somewhat premature?), but I think we will be able to find ten good Best Picture contenders just in time to avoid including box-office hits like "Harry Potter" and "Star Trek," which I know was a concern this summer. "Capitalism?" Could we finally get a documentary in the BP race? Or will Moore have to settle for a nod in Doc? "...

Yay I get to start and you're gonna love this. I saw two movies today. Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans I loved this movie. I mean really loved it. It was a remake of the original as if that first movie was on crack. Nic Cage was great. The whole cast was awesome. I appreciated that Herzog put this group together and you can see how a real director brings out the crazy talent of ...

A friend of mine saw a sneak peek of this and hated it, but we disagree often so I'll see it for myself. Read the book a couple of months ago, and as I'm a very slow reader I've rarely ever read a book before its movie adaptation, so I'm looking forward to this one despite a lot of its negative buzz. Based on "The Proposition," John Hillcoat is a good choice for this material. Hopefully he did it...

Sandra Bullock? Depends on how weak best actress is this year. If the film gets decent to good reviews, and solid box office, she could certainly be in the running. I could see her getting two Golden Globe nods (one for The Proposal, and one for The Blind Side).

ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE - D omg, this is like one of the lamest, most pointless movies i've ever seen. it's like just an excuse to showcase some hot-looking teens but they don't get much to work with anyway.
