Once the home of the 'famous' GG-1 Electrics & other 'famous' Electrics. As a side note,I was once hugged & kissed by the 'Father Of Streamlining',Raymond Lowey Himself . I don't even know that it was designed to be profitable. It was designed to provide affordable intercity travel. And it has been chronically underfunded and undercut. But now they are edging closer to solvency. More people rode Amtrak last year than ever before...over 28 million people. Besides, airlines and bus services are in the same boat as Amtrak. Even our cars and highways are funded by the Fed, so... _________________ Reading...

Thats a downside to low gas prices, for some of us we no longer get to double the value of our cars by filling up. _________________ TJ H '66 Mustang coupe {her toy} Stock 200, DurasparkII/HEI, AT, Scarebird 5 lug disc with SSBC power MC kit. iT'S ok; HE'S GOT CAPS LOCK. Worse still, is that some makes of car limit the number of keys that can be coded in. You may find it stops at two or three, meaning that you can't have a couple of spares... I'm looking at moving to a town where nobody looks their doors, and people leave the keys in the ignition.

I'm still waiting for the last installment of The Wheel of Time , by Robert Jordan. Unfortunately Robert Jordan (aka Jim Rigney) died last year of amyloidosis, but RJ made extensive notes and the book is being finished by Brandon Sanderson. Last I heard it is to be published in autumn 2009 (northern hemisphere). While I'm waiting I have been reading The View from the Mirror series from Australian author Ian Irvine. Same old...

i agree about the government running things regarding the railroads. they need to get rid of amtrak and let a private corporation run it, then it might make money. as far as i am concerned, the government should just supply the right of ways, and perhaps some financing, and let the railroad companies go to town. _________________ 64 falcon 66 mustang 76 el camino my mind is aglow with whiriling transient nodes of thought careening through a...

The girlfriend's purse was stolen Friday. So we go to the dealership today to get a new key and holy crap, it was $250!!! Yeah, it's a BMW. But even Chevy keys are well over a hundred bucks. Plus the $75 for the locksmith to unlock the doors, cause you have to have registration to get a new key... Glad I got one of the old "dumb keys" with the Cavalier...it's $1.95 to replace at any key-...

Well, I heard this morning that GM is no longer using Tiger for their advertisements. This was in an effort to cut back expenses. So, um, uh, hey Mike. How about a new FordSix rep? _________________ 1964 Falcon Futura Convertible 1964 Ranchero 1972 Maverick Grabber

Here is the story I posted on craigslist about a computer cabinet I posted for free. I don't understand people who get angry when they can't follow the directions and wake me up at 8:01 am and I give the item to someone else. Link removed cause craigslist deleted it. _________________ 04 Ranger 143hp 2.3 5sp 3.73 99K 94 F250HD 140hp 300 ZF-5sp 4.10 91K 93 F150 140hp 300 5sp 2wd 2.73...

I'm a packrat by admission but have wisened up in my middle aged years and gotten down to a more reasonable level. I will be 42 in december. Sunday I saw worse than I have been. A friend is in charge of doing a cleanup at an old farmstead 1/2 mile from his house. At least 30 years of junk and they had even hauled stuff away before I was there. At least 50 and possibly 100 tires. 2 nearly new of ...

This happened a couple weeks ago on a nearby vessel. Their ROV operators shared it with our ROV operators (ROV being the remotely operated vehicle weuse for doing work underwater; note it has arms and cameras and other nifty things, and yes, same sort of machine as explored Titanic and other famous shipwrecks). http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n27/bgreywolf/? action=view¤t=...

I think they came out in the late 70s. Now Matchbox mades a similar truck. Winch on the front is manual though. The cat just looked at it and got out of its way. I still have some of my Stompers in boxes somewhere. One has a winch. Plus I have a semi. You can get these trucks at Wally World for around $7.00. They are called POWER SCOUTS. _________________ 04 Ranger 143hp 2.3 5sp 3.73 99K 94 ...
