How to fix your oil cap from...

I strongly agree with steve. A new oil cap is and should perform without a problem. There is no need to invent and put gasket sealent on it, that is just asking for trouble down the road. Keep it simple and make sure your oil ventilation are functioning the way they are supposed to as stated above.

What injectors are these?
Published (2009-11-09 13:00:00)
I assume that number is engraved/scratched into the injectors but it's not the part number. There is a Rochester/Delphi number on them but you may have to pull then to see it. For example 17113742 = 75lb/hr low impedance

Good luck driving that thing in the snow. I was using rain tires last time I went to the mountain, lodge is at 6kft and I had no problem blowing through 6" of snow in the parking lot. Had some honda blow by us line of 6 cars behind the plow truck, vtec the whole way. I passed him when we got to the parking lot, he was barely moving and I was laughing in his face.

or buy an AFPR with a gauge built in. Kill two birds with one stone you know? I believe they sell them would be a much easier way to go about it. If it smells like raw fuel your obviously dumping too much. We had a similar issue when turboing a previous car i owned. AFPR fixed her up real quick. I was running nearly double what i should have been.

If the PCV valve vents crank pressure right? If the PCV valve is leaking out of the box... does that not mean it is venting pressure constantly? Or does it work some other way that I do not understand? Explain in detail please. I too have oil leaking, and I have two seals around my oem cap... its a TIGHT seal but does not stop the oil unfortunately.

Cam Angle Sensor?
Published (2009-11-06 20:46:00)
Its not technically a CAS, its the cam position sensor? Its the hall effect one that gets its reading off of the exhaust cam gear. Thats a good idea, I need to replace the timing belt anyway though, and we were going to double check that the crank and oil pump marks were correctly aligned. Might replace the crank sensor while everything is off, just for piece of mind.

Let me guess, knock off Greddy? In my experience with them stay stock until you can afford a reliable one that will hold boost. Seriously do you think if they were half as good they could be sold for 1/30th the price? It's always a gamble with ebay, either shit or gold... not too much in between.

Try the high temp flat-black 1200 degree paint they sell at autozone. I am currently running this paint on my heat shield though, and i didn't let it settle for a good time but it is holding good. I plan to re-paint it correctly later on. Not sure how well it will stay on the exh mani itself, give it a try.

Those numbers are definitely going to be the majority of the problems. We could help you diagnose what might be helping cause the sputtering but with those numbers its rebuild time. You should really still do the test to see if it is rings or a head problem. Although consistently low numbers like that will usually yield a weak short block. Have you looked into checking the timing? A misaligned ...

I've heard lots of bad things about using puck discs with springs. A couple guys on here who're putting down good HP swear by the xtd stage 4, which comes with an unsprung disc. As far as the stage 1 and 2 I've read mostly bad reviews on them.

Check your coolant level. The 510cc injectors, i believe if i'm not wrong, are standard on evo3 motors, so you should be ok. As for the car cranking over, have you checked to see if maybe you have a clogged fuel filter or line/s that is not allowing enough fuel to get by ?

Well I agree with everyone else. From the insurance company perspective, its probably totaled, but it is definitely fixable. I have scavaging junkyards in the last few weeks looking for stuff for my car and there are plenty of parts available. In fact, I have seen more 90-91 then i have 92-94, which sucks for me since I have a 94. I sold my car a few years ago after it took a *hit...

Unplug a spark plug wire and lay it close to a bit of grounded bare chassis or body metal, have someone crank the engine and watch to see if it sparks.

Get a Noid light and see if the injectors are firing first. Just because it's not getting fuel doesn't mean that it is the computer. Did this just happen or was there a problem that has been getting worse. When say the fuel pump works, do you mean that it actually pumps fuel or it just runs? A pump can run and not actually flow fuel. Step 1 - Check injector pulse with Noid light Step 2...

IMO it's worth the cash. I would however have the dealership read and diagnose the code for you so that you know what your dealing with prior to buying the car.

20 psi on a 14b and 19psi on an EVO 3 is a pretty big jump in airflow. Make sure you get a good set of NGK BPR7ES. I would gap them down to .28" to start with and if there are no problems keep it there.

You're going to want to run a turbo ecu as well. If you get an eprom you can burn a chip with a timing map to run those 9 to 1 pistons on 91 octane.
