Hi, You need to download "Hijackthis" (maybe on another PC to a thumb drive) and run it on your PC. This will produce a log.. post that log. http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/

yes, that is correct. It is my laptop. Today I reset the modem and router (HP had me do that) but that did not help. I just called the service provider of my internet who suggested i call dlink again. There are two other laptops in my home that have no trouble connecting via wireless; only me Are you familiar with the Hijack this program and/or do you think there could be some setting there that has taken over my wireless ability? I can not start my desktop. It is a 2-3 year old Dell with XP home on it5. For the last week or so, I was getting a message about my page file not being found or big enough. zLast night when I tried to start my desktop, all I get is "a disc read error has occured". It also sounds loke nothing is trying to start up (no spinning of hard drive, etc).
Does anyone have any ideas? I am not ...

Is everything properly grounded?
Try plugging your display into a different wall socket than your machine (not a different outlet on a power strip or the other outlet in the same wall-box, but another wall-box altogether, maybe even on another circuit).
It sounds like the capacitors that feed the display controls aren't getting charged up properly and it's screwing with the ...

I found a fix!
I had this problem as well. It happened randomly in the middle of downloading music.
But thanks to some tech help from another site, the fix was pretty easy.
Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.
A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.
Make sure that "Startup type" ...

Where is you brother's CD? Try and borrow one that matches your brother's OS.
I am not a procrastinator, well at least I don't think I am, then again I could be. I just don't know, I will have to think about it.

Do you have a bootable CD in one of the drives? If so, take it out and try it again.
Barring that, a good starting point would be to go in to the BIOS and make sure that your boot devices include the appropriate HDD (i.e. the one with your OS on it). If it's already in there, try moving it to the first device so it tries to boot from it first.

Thanks for your response.
I need a little help understanding what you are saying.
I have removed the hard drive out of my mini laptop, it is in pieces.
I have the hard drive in a external hard drive holder and it is plugged into another laptop.
Now it will not open I think because of the fact, when I started the laptop it came out of you had to put a password in, like I said before...
