Look up Archies joke book #66 in the O-street guide the variant price edition. Archie comics were being test marketed with both 12c and 15c cover prices in the early 1960s. Is this book still one of the top books in the Silver Age ? I remember it was pretty hot in the 90's, but now seems to have cooled off a bit. what's the future of this book ? I was thinking about picking up a decent copy, but if I'm going to be wasting my money (long term), I can always find more GA to buy instead. just wondering.

I believe this issue coincides with X-Men #3 which plays into the background color gradations of X-Men #4 which just may be the greatest X-Men cover of all time...as a fellow artist, this is interesting and would be an interesting topic of exploration in the Marvel realm for discussion...not that it was unique and certainly had appeared in GA/prior but what the mind-set was at the time...
