Opinions on some Baitcasting Reels
Published (2009-12-02 00:00:00)
Thanks for the opinions. I was leaning towards the Skeet Reese, I just wanted to hear some experiences about the different reels and brands. My only experiences have been with Shimano and Daiwa which have both been positive. I only wish the colors were different on the Skeet Reese reel. Oh well, can't complain about a free reel. Thanks all.

how can you even ask this when you already own a curado E7? do what i did..also get the E5 and if you cant with your credit, buy some more lures or some more storage...or something.

If you want electrics the Cannon Mag5s are going to be as close as you can get to your budget i think. They are the same exact thing as the Mag10 but with a fixed boom instead of extendable. A couple years ago you were about to get 2 of them for about $650-$700, I dont know if that has changed or not. Big Jon also makes some lower end electrics too that might be close to you budget. The Cannons are not going to be as reliable as the big jons...

Pflueger 6730X ?????
Published (2009-11-26 00:00:00)
I got a Pflueger 6730X spinning reel as a present, I needed a reel for crappie and bluegill fishing and the guy told my wife this would be perfect with #4 or #6 line on it, it seems a little big and that would be ok but does anyone use this reel with #4 line on it ?

It's rated for 115 yards of 6, so 150 yards of 4 would be an estimate... Remember that big spools cast further....

I own the quantum tour edition PT 7:1. I've never had a problem with it, the 7:1 is great for rippin lures fast through the water. They all seem like nice reels though...enjoy..for free!

Pick the Abu. Every Quantum I've played with just feels cheap and I've heard nothing but good things about the Revos.

boat launching

One of our club members found a new product, that helps you launch your boat. It bolts to your boat trailer, and has 50' of rope to launch your boat. I bought one and it works great, especially at ramps with shallow pads. It's online at Easy Launch.net.

I'd go Abu. My Revo Inshore doesn't seem to cast a mile but the pole is a foot or two short I think.

I'd strongly reccomend the Abu Garcia Revo Skeet Reese baitcaster. I own 3 revos (SX, Winch & Premier) and they've all been great. The Toro would be overkill unless you're looking for a salmon/muskie rig. The reels cast a mile, have great drag & are nicely sized. Hope this helps!

I have saved up a number of credit card points that I am thinking of using up. They have a "Fishing" section that offers a variety of fishing equipment including reels, rods, and lures. I am thinking of adding another baitcasting reel into my collection. Funny thing is, when I first started fishing a couple of years ago, I made fun of my friend because he had 15 reels and over 30 rods....

Go with a 4ft arm. Get ones that tip up and electric is the only way to go.

I love it! It's really fast for browsing. I've had it for two months now and don't have one complaint. It's not too much different than Internet Explorer, but I think it's easier/faster to browse with. Try it out!

I use Terminator spinner baits which have an open R bend. Like you I also use quick change snaps. My favorite solution to this problem is, get some of those orthodontic rubber bands that are used on kids braces. Thay even come in fluorescent colors, and they are a silicone rubber that is much stronger than common rubber bands. Wrap the band 2 or 3 times around the R bend to make an eye. If...
