Woohoo! I'd be surprised if FOX wasn't pressured by NASCAR and its sponsors to keep Aussie V8's and BTCC off the air, as they make the US 'product' look so phoney.

BTCC is just about as phony as NASCAR. It's the most aggressive form of racing I've ever seen as the stewards will let anything go as long as its the last lap. Even one of the Radio Le Mans guys (Declan?) calls BTCC and NASCAR "entertainment and not real racing". V-8s are slightly better but it has its own issues. Their idea of overtaking is the same as NASCAR at Martinsville and Bristol - get your front bumper...

They are calling out the lack of competition. They don't want to leave as I read it, but they don't see the investment when they are only racing themselves. But maybe the Grand Am model is the way to go? I'm starting to buy into it.

I think this is desperation all around. The ACO is desperate to get GT1's on the grid, because ACO sanctioned GT1 classes have for all but dried up. The FIA has a series in flux. The current series is being changed to follow Ratal's spec "World GT1", meanwhile there are only 3 cars and teams that have bought into it. So he tries to get teams to build these new spec cars, and baits them with the ...
