I to bought the 5005 Jan.3,2006.It worked great burning first 7 dvds.Today i went to use it,and it will not load a disc, no disc(invalid disc,or no disc).It will not play store bought dvds,or discs made by with the 5005.Bad unit maybe?Any help,suggestions. Thanks,Dan

I too have a potential problem with my burner. I've had the top off and connected a spare for the computer (toshiba sd-r5112-neb). I noticed that the burner in the HD-A740GX doesnt have a jumper fitted? I tried the toshiba burner and removed the jumper so it was set up as the original burner, the machine didnt go beyond the HELLO message. Should I try again but fit the jumper to master? ...

Hi everyone! This is my first post and I REALLY need some help fast! Ive had the Lite-On HD-A740GX for over a year now,and its worked fine. But recently a few times when I tried turning it on it got stuck on the ''HELLO'' screen,and doesnt move further than that. HELP! I'm about to die! This thing is about to hit the trash can! I bought it in December 2004. It arrived DOA. Had to RMA and was sent another unit. Received new unit, used it, and worked good playing DVD's and prepared a few DVD's and copied some (DVD-R) without minor problems. I think 2/9 failed. I have had the HD-A760GX for 8 months, Lite-on had it 2 of the 8 to fix a problem with the DVD Drive. Now the drive has given up again. Is there a replacment drive for it. The Model is LMU-713H

I have two LVW 5006 recorders. One records fine using dvd-r, dvd+r and dvd-rw blank media. The other one refuses to burn anything apart from dvd-rw media. Any ideas as to why this happens please.
