I see I made Jedi Warrior. I'm surprised y'all let me have a weapon seeing I'm always accidentaly stepping on peoples toes. Now I'll be mistakenly lopping off folks apendages!!! I've got one question that I haven't been able to figure out yet. I get the Star Wars rank thing. How'd the great pumpkin get in there? What's the ranking system top to bottom? Is it automotic, or something you earn? (Tony's...

Statistics. Lies, dam* lies and statistics. I'm a DBA by the way, so don't talk to me about statistics. I cringe when certain people ask me for data, as I know all too well what they are about to do with it. (lie cheat & steal) Anyway Kelly, no I don't think there's any deep & meaningful "thing" behind all the Dan Dare stuff. I just think they are cool looking tops. I also think the one I...

I have.. or had three dual masters sitting in my basement. One looks like it was painted balck, another looks like it was painted green. The paint was only on the cast iron, not the aluminum plates. I would not paint them unless you are using a silicone fluid. The gerilng fluid will take paint right off. Colin's idea to powder coat makes better sense.

Larry, I'd go this route. 1. check the color of the plugs - this will be a good diagnostic start. Compare to this http://www.verrill.com/moto/sellingguide/sparkplug s/plugcolorchart.htm . I'm going to suggest you most likely will be looking for carbon fouled (too rich) in which case, clean them, lean out your engine two or three flats and you are good to go. If plugs are good. 2. Try to ...

It's a very easy job. there is a spring clip that holds the cylinder onto the plate. when that comes off, it's a bit of a wiggle to get the cylinder out as there are 2 holes - one for the clip and one for bleeding the brakes. here is all you need to know. 1. keep the spring clip and use it for the new cylinder. - the one that came with the new one is cr*p don't ask me how I know. 2. take ...

True but most have a regulator on board so your getting a moderen electronic voltage regulator in the purchase. If your regulator works fine then the Lucas may be the way to go. there really is no damage to the harness I think you just move some around in the regulator connections.Theres severial sites that explain the procedure.

I powdercoated mine black. Considered using a cast iron powder color or clear, but decided to stick with black. I think original is uncoated cast iron, but I wanted to stop future rusting. Having it painted makes it much easier to keep everything clean.

I've always used cork. If it isn't sealing try adding a washer under the cap nuts to get more compression of the gasket.

Yes and no, while this can contribute to this symtom, it's by no means the definate cause. A loose advance plate, either in the center or at the vac advance will do the same thing, a broken vac advance too. A bad balancer will make it appear timing is changing also. ( I don't know if you have a rubber mounted balancer on this or not, as I have NO excperiance w/ 1098's.) A worn mechanical advace...
