Two post lift - British Car Forum
Published (2009-12-21 13:01:00)
I have been looking on-line and like the Challenger 2 post lift. Maybe just because it weighs more than the other ones (costs more too). I finally found a company local that sells the lifts so I can buy and not have to worry about getting it off a big truck. I can have them load it on my trailer. My wife says I have to wait till the patio cover is done first. Jerry

What causes the cracking and pealing I frequently see on the original dash? Was it applied too thick? Or is it just sensitive to UV? How many coats should one be expected to apply?

Johnny,he's talking about radius rod bushes, on the Phase 2, they mount above the leaf spring & connect to a pocket in the inner apron.Old bushings can either be cut or pressed out. Not that difficult,I agree, I would paint or powder coat the arm before installing new bushes. Genos2

It looks like the woodworking skills in this group far excede mine! I'd love to redo the dash myself but concidering the condition of the base plywood and my poor track record in this area, I think I'll take the easy-out and order the parts. Thanks to eveyone for their input and please have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! Frank Custis

BN7 Frame? - British Car Forum
Published (2009-12-20 17:11:00)
Dean, How does the angle of the windscreen compare with the sidescreens when fitted? That will tell you where the windscreen needs to be. Then the top bows can be dealt with from there. I know it sounds strange but the adjustment screws need to be in the bottom ends of the frame sticks. This is because the frame side sticks are all working with various angles, the more length turned out (making the top frame "taller") the...

Hi Tom, Welcome to the Forum. What makes you think the filter is restrictive? Maybe a K&N filter like THIS would work better for you.

I've always been happy with NGK BP6ES (maybe you'd want BPR6ES for the radio suppression). The Champions never seemed to *clean* themselves off after a period of idling, like stop & go traffic. I recommend staying away from any of the hyped Platinum, Iridium, or younameitium. You just don't see the benefits in our cars, and may not last as long as plain old NGKs. I like the NGKs and have been...

I bought this one from Eagle: http://www.eagleequip.com/page/EE/PROD/LI-ETP/MTP- 9F It was several hundred dollars more at that time (01/06) but included shipping. With only a 9'3" ceiling, I had to use a floorplate type; if you have the height, I recommend getting one with the cables and hose run overhead, to allow for a completely clear floor. Seems whenever I'm pulling a trans out of an M ...

Hey all, Discovered what I think is right about the horns - Lucas has a HF lettering in raised type at the bottom face of the original horn so I'm hoping that stands for High Frequency as just ordered a Low Frequency from AH Spares. I'll test them as Rich suggested and hope I guessed right ! Merry Christmas, Mike

Sounds like the little bushing on the bottom of the lever has come adrift. Not too hard to fix, in fact, I think there was a recent post about the procedure.

I just bought four (4) of the 3-ear Borrani style spinners, and I'm quite sure you'd get thrown off the field with these, but they sure are pretty (pretty heavy too). A <valid> point that I do want to make though, is that fresh out of the box, they're a bit tight on the threads; these being the 12 t.p.i variety. I spent a few minutes with a fine polishing stone on the internal/external threads ...

No. They usually sell for 15 bucks. Easy to find at flee markets. They did
have a Barbie car made by Eldon in the 60's but no clock. I believe there
is a Ken doll box that has a picture of a Healey on it. (I worked in a toy
store in high school)

I have a milling machine and did a rough cut to within 1/32" of the pattern. Then I did the final cut with a die grinder. The milling machine did most of the work. So far the seal has worked great! Have a good day! John

Dean, First off, you have the corrct top frame. However, where you have the clamp applied should be all the way together with the one link stopping right against the other bar. Your main bow is angled much too far forward, preventing the above from happening. The fitting of the top is preventing this. The details are too dark to see where the top stitching lines are located, but I can see that ...

I've never heard anything bad said about Pete Delaney--he has been a member of the NC AHC group for a long time and is well thought of. He was suffering with some health issues a few years back and perhaps that may explain what you speak of. Since you live in Columbia and he in Charlotte area--less than 100 miles--why not simply drive up there, give him the money and get the transmission?

My uncle who was a "Chevy" mechanic for over 30 years (from the 40's and 60"s) and who also was a USAC racer Sprint cars always told me to do that. In fact, most dealerships did that. You had to start the car and let it good and warm and with the throttle (remember those?) open, pour slowly a cup or two of water into the carb until the engine stalled. Let the motor sit awhile then restart, he ...

Hey Robert, I've installed two BJ8 tops and believe they are pretty similar to a BJ7 other than perhaps the zip out window. The sleeve your shop is referring to sounds like the extra material that is sewn it to allow it to be wrapped around the rear rail of the top frame. There should be a metal cap that attaches to the frame rail over the extra fabric as well as the small retaining clips for ...
