If you're 25 or more lbs overweight, you need to get your diet under control before you worry about supplements, just my 2 cents. What kinds of foods are you eating? What times do you eat? What's the workout program look like?
And IMO, "the pump" is a non-necessity...if you're putting more weight on the bar and making progress, that's all I'd worry about.

ya, it's a carb supplement so you take it to fulfill your
macro nutrient and calorie needs.
